Install Issue When Trying to Install LB 13.14 on Windows 11

Recommended Posts

So this happens when trying to install LB 13.14 on Windows 11 - 23H2. I've been downloading the .exe from the official email link sent, I've tried multiple times and it keeps giving me the same install error. It seems to only partially install, then mention this file "CefSharp.Core.Runtime.dll" as not being found. Then repeats this error if you try open LB. When I navigate to the ThirdParty\Chromium folder the file it says it can't find IS THERE.. How can I fix this? o_O

Please help, I'm just wanting to install. Further error details attached.

This typically happens when an overzealous antivirus app quarantines that file. Because it contains the in-app chrome browser we use AV's mark it as being bad sometimes and quarantines it. You should be able to tell your AV to knock it off and then re-run the installer so it gets placed there again and then run the app like normal.

Solution - At Least What Worked For Me
This error occured while trying to install LB 13.14 on Windows 11 - 23H2:

Could not load file or assembly 'Folder Path\LaunchBox\ThirdParty\Chromium\ CefSharp.Core.Runtime.dll '

Installing these fixed the problem:

.NET Core
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/3.1

Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2019-2022:

Hope this helps other people out there.
