m3u files

ok i mite seem dumb but here we go so i want to make a m3u file for my portable lauchbox install so it works on more than 1 pc as when you plug in to diffrent pc the drive leter mite not be be then same on all pc eg j:\game\ how do i get around the j: so it will auto detect the usb as thats where the m3u is

You might be able to change the absolute paths in the .m3u file to relative paths.

If the files that the .m3u references are in the same folder as the .m3u itself (vs a subfolder thereof), you shouldn't need the paths at all.

ok so my m3u could look like this for wild arms 2

wild arms 2 cd1.cue

wild amrs 2 cd2.cue

instead of 

j:\games\sonyplaystation\wild arms2\wild arms 2 cd1.cue

j:\games\sonyplaystation\wild arms2\wild arms 2 cd2.cue

?

I believe it could.  If the .m3u file and the 2 .cue files are in the same folder.

The best way to achieve this is by using relative paths in your m3u file.  Instead of specifying the entire drive letter (e.g., J:\game),  you just reference the folder containing the game relative to the location of the m3u file itself.
