The latest update (13.14) decided I shouldn't use LaunchBox anymore.

Recommended Posts

I got the notification that the latest update was downloaded this morning, so I attempted to install it through the LB interface. Around the time the installer started transferring the MOVE###.wav files, I got an error saying the file was corrupted. I told it to proceed anyway, and I got the same thing for the next 20 or so .wav files until I cancelled the installation. I downloaded the full patch from the LB website, replaced it in my /Updates folder, and ran it again. This time the installer didn't fail and I was able to use LaunchBox and then BigBox.

Fast forward about 4 hours and I try to open LB again, but it gives me the below error message. I have since been swapping the 13.13 and 13.14 installations, but no matter what I choose or how many times I restart my PC, I can no longer use LB.

Thanks for reading. Double thanks if you can help me.

You got something messing with XML files that shouldn't be. If you open the files in \\LaunchBox\Data and look for the string "f`lse" (without quotes) and replace it with "false" (without quotes).

Just remembered I could search them all at the same time with Notepad++.

it actually was one of the platform .xml files...specifically the Sega Master System. I corrected that one single instance and it's working again.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
