chu2rocket
Due to some inexplicable strangeness I want to delete my LaunchBox folder and do a clean reinstall. To save time, besides Games I'd like to keep the folders that contain downloaded assets then just move them back in after the clean install. Is this safe? Are there folders besides Images that I would want to keep? No configuration files, though.
Solution C-Beats Posted July 9 Solution Share Posted July 9 Primary folders to consider saving are: Data (contains information on all library data, in your case it sounds like this ISN'T needed since you want to start over) Images (is the default path for all images stored in the app. I'd delete any subfolder starting with the word "cache" before moving over. Also run Cleanup Media tool after you re-import your platforms) Videos (same as above but for videos) Emulators (only if you installed portable emulators to this folder and don't want to lose your configurations) Games (only if you moved ROMs to this folder) LBThemes (any LB themes you want to use in the new build) Themes (and BB themes you want to use in the new build)

Traulq
Quick follow up if I may, I have an arcade cab with 2x sticks, 6 buttons each player, trackball and light gun. Originally it was running Hyperspin but was upgraded remotely to launchbox/bigbox. It still has some odd behaviour so I was also thinking about doing a clean install and let Launcbox/bigbox handle everything from scratch. It's just running mame for arcade games. Forgive the daft question but as I'm not experienced with mame/launchbox etc is there a settings file/directory i can backup to keep the controller/lightgun/trackball setting and copy it back post fresh install as I'm not confident enough i could set the controls back up again. There's a career in the UK for a Arcade Cab/Mame/Launchbox guru who could travel to site and do fresh optimised configs/installs !
