Ande85
When I try to import new Steam games into LaunchBox, it says that I must be connected to the internet, and that my Steam account must be public. I already am connected to the internet, and as for my Steam account being public, I have no idea on how to fix that. I've clicked on the requesting a new API key, and it just told me I'm not a developer.
sundogak
@Ande85 Are you leaving the domain name blank when requesting the API key? You cannot leave blank but can put in anything in that field. You must have API key for LB to work for Steam imports. Second. You can verify if your account is really public by trying this in browser: http://steamcommunity.com/id/ ENTER YOUR STEAM PROFILE NAME Your profile name is upper right of your Steam Client window. If it resolves to your public page then that verifies not issue there. Edited August 17 by sundogak

Here’s a streamlined approach: Make Your Steam Profile Public: Go to Steam’s privacy settings and ensure your profile and game details are set to Public. Check Internet Connection: Confirm you have a stable connection. Update LaunchBox: Ensure you’re using the latest version of LaunchBox. Obtain API Key: Request an API key from Steam’s API Key Request page (you don’t need to be a developer). Reinstall LaunchBox: If problems continue, try reinstalling the software. Ande85
Came back to update this in case others stumble across this since I go the issue resolved about a week or so ago. Turns out the old API doesn't work...you have to create a new one, which means pairing Steam with your phone, making your profile public, requesting an API, approving it on your cellphone...way to make things 1000% more complicated than just giving me an API like I was asking for previously. @_@
