ichimitch
Performance in Desktop mode and Big Box are both terrible. When selecting a title from the list it take a couple of seconds for the details pane to update and when it does the clear logo, box art and screenshot all stutter and jank onto screen. Is this a problem with cache size or something? I'm using v13.15 with approx 6,500 imported ROMs Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Ryzen 5 7600 64GB DDR5-6000 RAID-0 M.2 (2x2TB) Radeon RX 7600 XT Edited August 20 by ichimitch
Retro808
There have been a few threads on this. Many times it has been a setting on the pc/laptop the user was able to adjust. Some users still have some odd lag. Custom themes can cause this as well depending on how they are coded. Also if this is a new build and the image cache has not been fully built the lag can persist until you let it build fully. I have never experienced any lag and never really seen a consistent solution. Give this thread a look though as this user did find a solution that I have seen help several others experiencing a lag in the UI.

Unfortunately the referenced thread doesn't help much with my setup since I'm using a desktop PC (not laptop) with single GPU (aforementioned RX 6700 XT). No onboard graphics. Also, if it matters, I'm using Desktop mode; not Big Box. Without any custom themes. If it is indeed an image cache problem, that sounds like quite poor optimization for this late stage of development (v13.15). Couldn't the image cache be built during the scraping process? It would be far preferable to have scraping take considerably longer because it's also building the cache, rather than dealing with insufferable jank while the cache builds during usage. Maybe I'll just go back to Batocera or Retrobat since I really can't deal with how Launchbox is running ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edited August 24 by ichimitch
