Disney Rob Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Trying to run V-tech Creativision through Mame, it just will not work So I decided to use the Creativision emulator. It will start up, and then dump out/ It looks like the bios files are in the proper folder. Is there a tutorial out there, or something to show how to set this emulator up Thanks. Quote
spycat Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 To emulate The VTech CreatiVision carts with MAME via LaunchBox you need the bios crvision.zip If you're emulating the MAME crvision software list games then the 'Remove Quotes' and 'Remove file extension and folder path' boxes should be checked. If you're emulating the No-Intro games then the 'Remove Quotes' and 'Remove file extension and folder path' boxes should be empty. In either case the LaunchBox parameters are crvision -cart When a game is launched it displays the demo screen. Press F10 and then press R. After a short tune the game can be played. See the crvision.xml hash file for more information. 1 Quote
ancient_mu_mu Posted November 22 Posted November 22 (edited) Stumbled across this post whilst trying to get the standalone creatiVision emulator to work, and I eventually figured it out for myself, so I'm posting instructions here in case it might help someone else. Haven't played around with it much yet, but it seems to have better sound than the version of MAME I'm using (0.273). It can be downloaded from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/creativisionemulator/files/?source=navbar Below is a screenshot of my emulator settings in Launchbox And as per the read-me file: "For normal games, on loading, you will observe a demonstration mode of the game. Pressing F3 (RESET to the creatiVision) will place you in game select mode. Use the fire buttons (CTRL/SHIFT) to select the game mode number you require, then press any alphabetic key on the lower row. Enjoy your game!" Edited November 22 by ancient_mu_mu Arranged text Quote
