TommyTomorrow
I have a premium (lifetime) license for the Windows version and I'm thinking about buying the same license for Android, but I wonder if it makes sense? The thing is that each application is developed and Android devices receive system updates, usually two (main) versions up. If I currently have a phone with Android 14 (an update to version 15 will be available this or next month), can I encounter a situation where in a few years I will see in some new version of Launchbox that it requires, for example, Android 17 and then I may no longer run Launchbox and will have to buy a new phone with a new system? So does it make sense to buy a lifetime license for Android? Edited November 28 by TommyTomorrow
Solution AstroBob Posted November 28 Solution Share Posted November 28 Hi @TommyTomorrow jumping in to see if I can help clarify things here: These are the requirements we recommend for Android devices running LaunchBox (taken from our Android Download page) Quote Any Android device running Android 7.0 (Nougat) or higher should work in a pinch, but Android 10.0 (Q) is recommended. The app should work well on most modern Android phones, tablets, and Android TV devices. We test on flagship Samsung phones and the Nvidia Shield TV. Currently, LaunchBox for Android is recommended for devices running Android 10, which is several versions behind the latest Android updates. While it’s hard to predict future system requirements, a few key points might help your decision: 1. You’re not forced to update to a newer version of LaunchBox if your device no longer meets future requirements. You can continue using your existing version indefinitely. 2. The lifetime license ensures long-term flexibility and value. Even if you eventually upgrade to a new Android device, you won’t have to worry about repurchasing the app. At the end of the day, it’s entirely personal preference. There’s always the option to upgrade your standard license later at a discounted price, or you can opt for the lifetime license now if you prefer the peace of mind of knowing you’re covered for both your current device and any future upgrades. Hope that helps, happy to answer any further questions.
TommyTomorrow
Thank you Bob I don't know how I missed this information on the Android app page, I thought I had looked through it thoroughly. Best regards Tom
TommyTomorrow
I don't know what's going on but when I try to buy premium license by clicking Go Premium then I choose For Android and Buy now, it's redirecting me to sign in screen. After sign in, the button For Android doesn't work and I see only a Windows version. When I'm not signed, it does work. I bought it without signing in. AstroBob
Hi @TommyTomorrow thanks for the update, that sounds odd. Can you confirm the link of the page your using to purchase the license? Can you also send me a screenshot of that sign-in page it's showing you? If you managed to get it purchased and is all working for you though, no worries. But if you're still having issues with it let me know and we'll get you sorted Cheers,
