  1. Not yet, but this is a, interesting idea. It would have to stay performant and would probably need to be a uniform image type to remain consistent (possibly a good use for the icon image type), but I scoped it out here if you want to upvote it: - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/optional-image-column-in-list-view
  2. Version 1.22 - Released May 28th 2026 Release Summary Release Summary: https://feedback.launchbox.gg/changelog/launchbox-for-android-122 Full Changelog: https://www.launchbox-app.com/android-about/change-log Release Video: 👇 New Features: Steam game importing for the new Windows platform. This lets you bring your Steam library into LaunchBox for Android and launch supported games through compatible Android Windows launchers Steam media support. Steam games can now use Steam artwork and trailers, including box fronts, clear logos, backgrounds, and videos, giving imported Steam games better media coverage out of the box Steam library update support. LaunchBox can now compare your Windows/Steam platform against your Steam library to add newly owned games and optionally remove games you no longer own, including a Refresh Games option in Manage Steam Options to customize Steam imports. You can choose exactly which Steam games to import, whether to include family shared games, search the LaunchBox Games Database, prioritize Steam metadata, prioritize Steam media, or allow duplicate imports A new Security system that lets you lock down platform and game management features behind a PIN, with extensive configuration options available under Options > Security Platforms: Windows, Arduboy, Sega Model 3, Uzebox, WASM-4, and Microsoft Xbox Emulators: GameHub Lite, GameNative, Pizza Boy SC Pro, Azahar (Vanilla), Linkboy, Lynx.Emu, PICO-8: Android, PICO-8: Picpic, Aethersx2 (Turnip), SkyEmu, MelonDualDS, YabaSanshiro Pro, Vita3k (ikhoeyZX), Super3, X1 Box, aPS3e, and eka2l1 RetroArch core mappings for Arduboy, Uzebox, and WASM-4. These platforms should now be easier to import and launch when using RetroArch A visual update indicator for themes, showing a green badge on the Manage Themes menu item and next to individual themes when updates are available Improvements: Steam account management with Steam Guard approval handling, cancel support while waiting for approval, a safer logout confirmation, and more reliable saved sessions Steam media and trailer loading during imports, making Steam artwork and videos more reliable when importing larger libraries Streaming video support. LaunchBox now handles more streaming video formats, including HLS streams, which helps Steam trailers and other online videos play more reliably Updated Optimize Library behavior so star ratings across your entire library now refresh automatically when running an Update Library scan Fixed: Fixed Local and Cloud filters so games appear in the correct place. Games with local files now show under Local, while Cloud only shows games that exist only on a configured network/cloud location Fixed a possible crash when returning to LaunchBox. This could happen if notification or data services were not available yet when the app resumed Fixed Security settings so PIN changes are saved immediately, clearing a PIN disables Security, and protected menu actions use the correct PIN requirements Fixed an issue that prevented setting a Scoped Storage path when the app was running as a homescreen launcher Fixed possible image resize conflicts during media downloads. This could prevent media from failing or becoming inconsistent when multiple images were being processed at the same time Fixed the Add to Playlist popup so playlist items are scrollable and accessible Fixed Browse Steam Image capitalization and allowed the Steam image browser to go back from loading and error states Fixed numeric password input handling in the Steam credential login popup Fixed scoped-storage handling for additional applications. Launching alternate versions or additional apps should now use the correct file path or URI Fixed scoped-storage lookup to use the selected application path. This helps when launching an additional app or alternate version instead of the main game file Fixed the built-in Vita3k Android emulator launch command
  3. Heya, thanks for the suggestion. Just to confirm, I'm assuming this is referring specifically to the Auto Save Backup features, since that is the only thing that will take up space on disk if you have this enabled. Let me know and we'll get this written up on our feature board. Cheers,
  4. Thanks folks, confirmed this indeed an issue that we'll get fixed up. Can follow along with this post here to get notified of any updates to it: - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/game-details-pop-out-window-opening-behind-launchbox Cheers,
  5. Hey @SolarisSpell sorry for the issue here, you're not alone in that we have seen instances where the local stats and cloud stats can get out of whack, which unfortunately means why you try to hook them up again, the cloud stats constantly take president, which is sounds like what is happening here. We don't have a great user-facing workaround for this at the moment, though do have a request to allow users to clear their own cloud stats, and esentially start with a fresh sync from their local data. - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/reset-clear-cloud-game-statistics In the meantime though, if you want to DM me with your games DB account email, we can try clearing the cloud stats on your account from our end, which should allow you to do a fresh sync. Drop me a DM if you want to give that a try
  6. Thanks for flagging this, Telemetry.txt is a temporary troubleshooting log that may appear for users who downloaded 13.27 during a short window after release. Early builds of this release were unintentionally creating that telemetry output locally in the LaunchBox root folder instead of handling it normally. So this would only appear if you were one of those users who downloaded it during that initial window before it was fixed. To resolve it, you can download the current 13.27 installer from our website and install it directly over your existing LaunchBox installation. After reinstalling, you can safely delete Telemetry.txt from the LaunchBox folder and it should stop reappearing. Give us a shout if that doesn't work for you

  8. Hi there, Thanks for the great suggestion here. At the moment, this isn’t currently possible within LaunchBox Android. While the app does support NAS setups, there’s no support yet for consumer cloud storage providers such as Google Drive or similar services. That said, we really like the idea, especially for Android where storage space is often much more limited and users may be moving between multiple handhelds, tablets, or phones. Being able to maintain a single centralized ROM library in the cloud rather than duplicating games across every device would definitely be a nice quality of life improvement. We’ve gone ahead and created a formal feature request for this so it can be tracked properly internally. - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/cloud-storage-support-for-android-game-libraries Please feel free to upvote the request on the feedback board to help show interest, and you’ll automatically receive updates if there’s any future progress on it 🙂 Cheers!
  9. Hi Folks, thanks for the additional reports here. We're continuing to work on an entire rebuild of the startup videos implementation to address these issues. Unfortunately we don't have an exact ETA right now, since it's require a fair bit of testing and reworking, but we're hopeful the new system will improve on the old startup videos implementation in many ways. We're gearing up for a 13.27 release this month, and unfortunately it hasn't made it into this one, but please be sure to upvote the known issue post and we'll notify you as soon as we have updates for it: 👉 Known Issue: Big Box Startup Videos Not Playing Reliably https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/known-issue-big-box-startup-videos-not-playing-reliably Thanks for bearing with us while we get this sorted.

Good to know I wasn’t the only one who immediately tried this once it was released! But yeah unfortunately doesn’t look like command line support is fully there yet. I’m seeing the same behaviour as you, and from other reports online that it loads the game but the OS always seems to take precident ontop. I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be supported in the future, but definately keen to hear when that happens, it is a great emulator!
  11. Thanks for the report here folks, we're able to reproduce this internally and very likely something on the GOG backend has changed that we'll need to update our integrations with. We created a known issue post here, you can upvote it to get notified on when it's ready - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/gog-posters-not-downloading-during-import Cheers,
  12. Thanks for the report there and good catch. This should be an easy one to fix up, we'll get it sorted!
  13. Heya, thanks for the update here and sorry to hear your experience with the app hasn’t been great. Please be assured that the team really does care about these things, we want to see both the app and our users succeed (we’re all nerdy active users ourselves 🤓). We’d be happy to dive into any specific concerns or issues you’re still having with your build, but just to clear up a few things: The app does use around 600MB–1GB of memory on average. This has been reduced from around 2GB previously, but we know there are still optimisations to make and we’re continually working on improvements here. Regarding startup times, we’re continuously adding optimisations as we know this has been an issue in the past. This includes improvements in the app itself, as well as optimisation guides (such as this one) with actionable steps to help reduce startup times. Many users have seen good results from these, and while there’s more to do, recent versions have shown overall improvements. We know navigation can sometimes struggle under large library loads. We're actively working on a new more performant image grid that adds a faster rendering mode to improves scrolling performance. We have a request here that you can follow along with here to be notified of updates to it. For achievement badges, the majority should correctly match games in your library against supported platforms in RA, and we’re not aware of any major gaps. There have been a few bugs along the way, but badges are supported across all RA platforms. We recently published a troubleshooting guide that we’d recommend checking, as it may help identify why badges aren’t appearing. Thanks for keeping us on our toes, we genuinely take this feedback on board and want to improve the app because of it. Please don’t hesitate to reach out (either via a new post or our feedback portal) with any specific issues, and we’ll do our best to help. As this is a very old thread, I’m going to lock it for now, but feel free to open a new one or reach out through our feedback portal if we can help further.
  14. Hi there, Thanks everyone for the feedback here, I wanted to jump in and try to address some of the concerns and add a bit of clarity. First off, we hear you. This community puts a huge amount of time and care into the database, and it genuinely wouldn’t be what it is without you. That said, the tools and systems around it haven’t kept up, and that’s on us. The games database hasn’t seen the same level of attention as other parts of LaunchBox, and it’s clear that’s led to frustration and burnout, especially for those of you who’ve been contributing for a long time, and we hate that it's come to that. I won’t pretend this post fixes that overnight, but I do want to speak directly to some of the points raised. First, the moderation guidelines. There’s no way to sugarcoat it, they currently suck. What little guidance exists is buried in old forum posts, difficult to find, and often outdated. On top of that, there’s no in-line guidance on the site itself, which naturally leads to confusion and inconsistency. We do have plans to overhaul this completely, rebuilding our submission and moderation guidelines from scratch in our new documentation platform, and making them easily accessible directly from the site. Second, regarding the moderation tools themselves. There are significant improvements we want to make here, and I should say we share the same concerns that have been raised. Things like clearer standards, better communication between moderators, stronger control over how data and media are handled and recognition for our dedicated moderators are all areas we agree need considerable improvement. While this doesn’t excuse the slow progress, over the past year the games database has been going through some foundational backend work. These changes aren’t always visible, but they are important for enabling the improvements we want to make moving forward. Some of this has already started to surface, such as the revamped games page, and early moderation improvements like field locking on specific platforms and a deletion approval system to prevent misuse. This work also sets us up for larger changes we’ve discussed internally, including a more robust tagging system that should help address some of the issues around media organisation and categorisation. Thirdly, the games database has, for a while, felt like a second class citizen. There’s been no clear changelog outside of the forums, and no good way to communicate updates or direction. On our new feedback platform, we’re starting to treat the database more like its own product, and we want to expand that into clearer changelogs, better documentation, and more visible communication so it feels like a more unified part of the LaunchBox ecosystem. I realise this can all sound like talk and no action, so here’s what we’re going to do. Over the next few weeks I’ll be going through all of your feedback, breaking it down into actionable items, and getting it documented on our feature request board under the games database section. This allows us to turn your feedback into trackable improvements, prioritise them properly, and make progress in a more transparent way. The forum is great for open discussion, but when it comes to actionable improvements, our feedback portal helps us keep things focused and ensures nothing gets lost. You’ve all done a great job outlining the issues already, so I'll use that as a starting point, but if there’s anything else you feel is missing, please feel free to share it and I’ll make sure it’s scoped and added. To close, I know it’s easy for me to say all of this when many of you have likely heard similar things before without seeing enough change. A message like this doesn't magically fix that, but we do recognise where we’ve fallen short, and we genuinely want to do better here I’ll share an update in a few weeks once I’ve had time to properly process and scope everything into the feature board, and we can take it from there. My DMs are open if anyone wants to chat about any concerns further, and thank you all once again for continuing to help us make the games database be the best it can be.
  15. @fianovale@hotmail.com we recently published a dedicated troubleshooting guide for this which you can find below: 🔗 https://feedback.launchbox.gg/help/articles/6833475-troubleshooting-retroachievements-badges-in-launchbox Please give that a read and let us know if you're still having issues there
  16. Heya, I've been trying to reproduce this but have been having trouble doing so. What i've been doing is: - Start a game to make sure it's `Last Played` is set to today - Close the game and make a backup of it's save However the Last Played appears to stick and doesn't get cleared. Were you able to consistently reproduce this on your side, and if so would you mind sharing specific steps, or even better a screen recording that shows off the issue. Thanks for helping me nail it down
  17. Heya @lishremix, we've just published a troubleshooting guide to try and diagnose these types of issues, would you mind giving it a read and letting me know if any of the steps there solve the issue? The thing I'd be curious to know is the part where it talks about your RetroAchievementsHash, if it's attempted to scan them previously you might need to clear some of these values out of your XML file, but it's all explained here: - https://launchbox.featurebase.app/en/help/articles/6833475-troubleshooting-retroachievements-badges-in-launchbox Let me know how you get on
  18. Hi Folks, We’re thrilled to announce that our friends over at RetroAchievements have just added another major new console to their supported platforms. And this one is bound to get a few arms swinging... The Nintendo Wii! For those not familiar, RetroAchievements is a service that lets you earn community-made achievements in retro games. We integrate their service directly into LaunchBox and Big Box, allowing you to filter, sort, and create playlists based on RetroAchievements data. You can also log into RetroAchievements right inside LaunchBox, and for emulators where we offer integrations, LaunchBox can pass those credentials through for you. We want to congratulate everyone involved in making this happen. It’s a huge milestone, and one plenty of people have been waiting for. The RetroAchievements team are also kicking things off with their Wii launch event, which runs for 4 months through July 19th. Along the way, players can earn points for beats, masters, and bounties, with exclusive event badges available at Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Grandmaster tiers. They’ve also put together a helpful Wii setup guide for getting Dolphin configured for the best Wii experience, and we’d definitely recommend giving that a read alongside this post. If this is your first time diving into Nintendo’s motion-control wonder machine, or you’re looking for a reason to revisit some Wii classics, LaunchBox is the perfect companion for organizing your collection. Let’s look at a few things you can do to build the perfect nostalgic setup. Setup your RetroAchievements account in LaunchBox 🎖️ If this is your first time using RetroAchievements, you’ll first need to create a free account. Then, in LaunchBox, go to `Tools > Options > Integrations > RetroAchievements` and enter your credentials. This allows LaunchBox to see which of your games have existing achievement sets. Make sure Dolphin is up to date 🧰 Next, you’ll need to make sure you’re using a version of Dolphin that supports RetroAchievements for Wii. At the time of writing, a minimum version of `2603a` is required for Hardcore unlocks, or `2603-81` or higher if you’re using the Nightly/Dev branch. You can update Dolphin directly through LaunchBox by going to `Tools > Manage > Emulators`, just make LaunchBox's displayed Dolphin version is higher than the required version. You can also review Dolphin’s RetroAchievements integration options in LaunchBox by going to `Tools > Manage > Emulators`, editing Dolphin, and opening the `RetroAchievements` section. This is where you can see whether the emulator supports RetroAchievements setup through LaunchBox and review the available integration options, such as using your LaunchBox RetroAchievements credentials and applying emulator-specific achievement settings where supported. Scan your library for achievement data 🏅 With all these new Wii sets available, the next thing we’ll want to know is which games in our LaunchBox library support achievements. To do that, head to `Tools > Achievements > Scan for all games / current platform`. If your game uses a supported file format such as .iso or .rvz, and you have badges enabled, you’ll start seeing achievement badges next to supported Wii titles in your library. Badges in Wii games 🤯 I never thought I'd see this day Note: At launch, .rvz and .iso files will correctly pick up achievement badges, but .wad (which are used for WiiWare games) do not. We already have a fix for this and will update this article once that is avaliable Follow our known issue post here below to get notified when this goes live: 🔗 https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/retroachievements-not-detected-for-wiiware-wad-files Put Game Progress Tracking to work 📈 With over 100 sets ready to go at launch, this is also a great time to put LaunchBox’s Game Progress Tracking features to good use. If you already know which Wii games you want to tackle first, you can start by marking them as Want To Play and building out a little achievement-hunting backlog. From there, LaunchBox can help automate the rest. If you head to `Tools > Options > Game Progress Automation`, you can configure how those status updates behave and choose which progress values LaunchBox should assign as you spend more time with a game and start earning achievements. It’s a great way to keep a big launch like this from turning into total choice paralysis. A fine looking `Want To Play` list if I do say so myself (Donkey Kong Barrel Blast haters come at me) 🤣 Organize your library by control style 🎮 One of the best things about the Wii is how many different ways there were to play, which makes it a perfect platform for controller-based playlists. LaunchBox can pull controller support information down from the LaunchBox Games Database as part of your metadata. To view it, open a game’s edit window and check the Controller Support section. From there, you can create playlists for different control types, such as Wii Remote and Nunchuk games, Classic Controller-supported titles, or pointer-heavy party games. If you just want to browse on the fly, you can also use the Filter button next to the search bar to narrow your Wii library by control type. For example, you could quickly filter down to games with Wii Zapper support or Classic Controller support without needing to build a playlist first. See which of your games require what controls Create controller-based playlists 📂 As one example, why not build a playlist for games that support the Wii Zapper? It’s a fun way to group together rail shooters and pointer-heavy titles into their own little collection. To create it: 1. Create a new playlist in LaunchBox and choose the option to auto-populate it. 2. Add a filter for controller support. 3. Set the rule so that Controller Support (Wii Zapper) is equal to Full Support. 4. Save the playlist and let LaunchBox populate it automatically. From there, any Wii games in your library that have Wii Zapper support marked as Full Support will be added to the playlist for you. Ready to start zapping my way to victory 🔫 Choose the control setup that suits you best 🕹️ One of the nice things about playing Wii games on modern hardware is that you have a few different options. Depending on the game and the experience you want, you might prefer a keyboard and mouse setup, a modern controller with gyro support, or original Wii Remote hardware with a sensor bar for the most authentic feel. If you want help deciding which route to take, or you need help configuring a specific control method, we’d recommend giving the RetroAchievements team’s Wii setup guide a read. It goes into much more detail on getting Dolphin configured for the best Wii experience, including the different control options and how to get them working smoothly. I'm going with the OG Wii-mote/Nunchuck combo, with the gloriously plastic-y Wii-Zapper, combined with the Mayflash Dolphin Bar 🐬 Pay a quick visit to the Wii Menu 👤 Some games will require you to have a Mii, so this is a good time to make sure your virtual living room is properly inhabited. In Dolphin, you can install the Wii System Menu by going to `Tools > Online System Updater`, then boot into it via `Tools > Load Wii System Menu 4.3U`. Once you’re in, head to the Mii Channel and create your masterpiece, whether that’s a lovingly crafted lookalike or the usual wonderfully cursed Wii-era gremlin. It only takes a minute, and it can save you from running into game-specific requirements later on. I remember sitting on this menu for hours 🥰 Grab yourself a Wii-inspired Big Box theme 🎞️ Now that we’re leaning all the way into the nostalgia, why not give Big Box a little Wii-inspired flair? If you really want to replicate some of that Wii Menu magic, a custom Big Box theme can go a long way toward making your setup feel like you’ve stepped back into 2006. One great example is Mini Consoles It features distinct console-inspired views across a huge range of platforms, including Nintendo Wii, and is all about recreating the look, feel, and atmosphere of the original hardware and dashboards. Enhance those visuals with texture packs 🖌️ We’re not done yet! While Wii games were originally built with much lower resolutions in mind, Dolphin lets us upscale them to glorious 1080p and beyond. To complement those visuals, we can also use custom texture packs to enhance the detail and breathe new life into classic games. The Dolphin Custom Texture Projects forum is a great place to start if you’re looking for texture packs, though there are plenty of fantastic community recreations floating around online as well. If you’ve never installed them before, Putachi’s guide is a great walkthrough for getting everything set up. Title screens have never looked this good! 🎨 A little tease: Wii save management is on the way 💾 And we’re not quite done with Wii support yet. In an upcoming update to LaunchBox’s Game Save Management feature set, we’ll be adding full support for managing Wii saves as well. That means you’ll be able to display save badges in LaunchBox for Wii games with save data, and manage those saves directly from LaunchBox by backing them up or deleting them as needed. It’s not part of this rollout just yet, but it’s coming soon. Remember this interface? Soon you'll be able to replicate nuking your Wii saves one-by-one directly from LaunchBox 😉 So, what Wii set will you tackle first? A huge congrats again to the RetroAchievements team for another massive rollout. With so many Wii games to choose from, what will you be playing first? For me personally, my go-to will probably be the Mario Galaxy games. They’re some of my favorite memories on the system, and they feel like the perfect sets to dive into ahead of the Super Mario Galaxy movie arriving next month. What are some of your favorite Wii memories, and what sets will you be tackling first? Let us know down below. Happy gaming! AstroBob
  19. We’re working on addind .iso support as a format to be recognised by LaunchBox’s auto-rom import featureset. You can upvote the request here to be notified when it goes live: - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/ps3-iso-support
  20. Thank you both for the updates here. Yes, we've definately seen issues where the playtime synced to the cloud is taking president over newer updates, so if it's synced at 0 hours, LaunchBox tries to download this playtime first and incorrectly overwrites the newer playtime Thank you, let me run some tests on this and see if I can reproduce this. I'll keep testing this and keep y'all posted
  21. Hiya, Thanks for the detailed report here and sorry the issues, but glad to hear the dynamic box sizing somewhat improves performance here. I wanted to chime in to flag that we're actually working on an update to the image grid behind the scenes to improve it's performance. We have a full writeup of the current image grid implementation and how we aim to improve it over on our feedback site, and linked below here: - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/improved-performance-mode-for-image-grid We're hoping to put this into a beta in the near future, but if you'd like to try it out, feel free to upvote that post, that way you'll be notified once it's ready to test. It would be interesting to hear the impact that it has when viewing the `all` category, as it's specifically designed to be a more performant mode for these specific large views. Cheers,
  22. Hi Folks, Thanks for the suggestions and reports here. We've gone ahead and opened an official request for this feature on our feedback site. - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/allow-alternative-sorting-options-in-big-box Feel free to upvote and add any additional context for how you see this working. We'll be sure to post any updates to this over on that request. Cheers,
  23. This is something we plan to add in the near future, aiming for the upcoming 13.27 release. Not just softcore, but other types of RA stats as well. You can follow the post below to be notified when it goes live: - https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/allow-for-retroachievement-score-to-be-switched-to-softcore
