StriderNeko
Out of curiosity - As I'm running Launchbox on a phone that's limited on internal storage (Thanks, Samsung, for ditching MicroSD slots, but that's a topic for another day) - Can anyone say on average, how much each type of media for say, NES titles, tends to take up? I've disabled automatically downloading missing media, and I'm considering just downloading perhaps a single type of media for titles, to conserve space (eg: either a Box image, or a Logo image. Anyone know what each Media type tends to take up, space-wise? I know we're talking KB at most here, but it all adds up, just curious what everyone does to conserve space on cellphone devices. AstroBob Posted yesterday at 07:56 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:56 AM Hi there, thanks for the question! In terms of total space, it’s hard to say since it completely depends on how many games you have and the specific images you’ve downloaded. Looking at my own collection, I have images ranging from 200-300kB up to a couple of megabytes. Box Fronts and Backgrounds tend to be larger images compared to, say, clear logos, but that’s not always the case. To preserve space, I’d say your best bet is to only download the image types that will work with your theme. For example, I use the default Banner view for my platforms and the Boxes Grids view for my games, so I only really need a Box Front and a Background (I don’t even need clear logos since I don’t use wheel views). I hope this helps clarify things! Let me know if you have any further questions or need more advice.
