Turaltay Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Hello all, i have linked my Steam-Account with Launchbox and have two games which are stuck in an infinite installing-loop (Counter Strike Condition Zero + Half-Life, see picture). Why is this happening and is there a way to fix this? I can start these two games in Launchbox but the rotating arrow and flashing installingbutton will not stop. Quote
gazingatrectangles Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 I'm experiencing this same behavior. I've tried removing and readding them, clearing the download cache in Steam and even a full re-install of the game using the Install option from Launchbox and it still shows the games as "installing." ghislefou Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Hi there, Exact same issue for me. Did you fond any solution? Thanks for your help. Best Quote
Mach_10 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Same here. Seems to happen with games that get imported as separate games by Launchbox but can't be installed separately from Steam. For me, the example is Half-Life 2. I have separate imported games for Episodes 1 and 2 as well as Lost Coast, but in Steam, they all need to be launched from within the main HL2 game, so there is only one entry in my Steam library. I solved this by deleting the separate Launchbox entries for the DLC, as all their Achievements for example are listed in the main Half-Life 2 entry as well. I guess Steam might have changed this in the past and it used to be separate library items and now it isn't but that's just my guess... Quote
Xchant1y Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) I've had similar issues with Steam games getting stuck in an install loop before. I was actually on skin.land the other day, looking for some cool CS skins, when I noticed a few games had the same kind of installation issues. One thing that helped me fix it was clearing the download cache in Steam (Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache). Sometimes that gives it a fresh start. Also, try verifying the game files through Steam to make sure nothing’s corrupted. Edited Monday at 03:23 PM by Xchant1y Quote
SrfrBoyBobby Posted Sunday at 06:56 AM Posted Sunday at 06:56 AM I was able to stop the infinite update temporarily for one of my steam games. I am unsure if it will come back at this time. I went to my steam library in the steam app and launched the game with the infinite install loop one time from there and it seems to have resolved this for now. Not sure if a new update pushes out it for a troubled game if it will come back but this beats re-importing all of my steam games I have setup in BigBox with all of the custom AHK scripts, etc. Hope this helps Quote
