SolarisSpell Posted January 23 Posted January 23 What information does the Data/Platform file need for a game to display the achievement badge? I have games from different categories organized as if they were the same (Sega CD games in my Genesis category). So the game's achievement badge does not appear (I understand that because it does not find it among the Genesis games, LaunchBox thinks it is a game without achievements). When you run the game, it does load the achievements without problems and they can be obtained as normal. I want to manually edit the Data/Platform file so that it does show the badge, what information should I modify? Thanks Quote
AstroBob Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Hi there, Thanks for your question! The factor that determines whether a game is recognized as having achievements is the “scrape as” value for the platform. When you edit a platform, the “scrape as” value must match the corresponding platform on the RetroAchievements site. For example, if you’re scraping the Sega CD platform as Sega Genesis, it will attempt to match games under Sega Genesis on RetroAchievements. Since these classifications don’t align, it won’t find the correct matches. In your case, I’d recommend ensuring that the Sega CD platform is still set to scrape as Sega CD. This will allow achievement badges to display correctly. If you’d like to group Sega CD games under Sega Genesis, I suggest creating a custom playlist that automatically populates games from both Sega CD and Genesis. You can then embed this playlist within your platform categories. I hope that helps clarify things! Let me know how it works out or if you have any other questions. Quote
Solution SolarisSpell Posted January 24 Author Solution Posted January 24 Hi. Thanks for the reply. In case it might help someone else, I have manually added the lines <RetroAchievementsHash> and also <RetroAchievementsId>. Now when I open LaunchBox, the games appear with the achievements badge even if they are games from two platforms together (Sega CD games in my Genesis platform and Game Boy Color games in my Game Boy platform for example) Quote
