I finally updated to 13.19 from 13.17 Worst mistake ever. I can't get it to load at all. The first time some kind of error messages that got sent to Launchbox automatically. Now nothing. it shows it's running but nothing happens. Stop the action and restart same thing. I roll back to 13.17 and it seems to work till it gets shutdown.

I shutoff auto update and download to no avail. I shut down and restart it'll re-install for no reason and not work again. I even bit the bullet and completely uninstalled to no avail. Best I can figure there is still something in the system that's not letting it not update if that makes sense. Windows 11 pro build 22631.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the issues—we’ll do our best to get you sorted.

First, we need to know exactly what errors are being displayed. I know you mentioned that it disappeared the first time, but if you’re seeing an error again, could you please paste the full output here so we can investigate?

One of the most common issues with the update to 13.19 is the use of third-party plugins that haven’t been updated to support .NET 9.0 (which is required by LaunchBox 13.19). If you’re using any third-party plugins, I’d suggest removing them from your LaunchBox\Plugins directory to see if that helps.

Beyond that, if you can provide more details on what specifically isn’t working—or even better, record a quick screen capture of the issue—that would be incredibly helpful in diagnosing the problem.

Thanks for bearing with us! Keep me posted on how you get on.

Cheers,

13.9 fresh install so no plugins. no errors. nothing to screen shot for errors. Task manager (ctrl/alt/del) will show it running, but not even using resources. task bar not showing it running. 13.7 will run the first time when I go back to it. While in it I've disabled updates and upgrades and exit properly. Go back in it says it needs to install at startup then nothing even if I stop the update. Screen shots show the desktop showing nothing even in the taskbar. Taskmanager shows it running but no resources at all. These are the only things I got to show. I'm fine going back to 13.7 and staying but it won't let me do that.

Can you do a fresh restart of your machine kill any LaunchBox processes that are running from the task manager, and then try re-opening the application? I'm still not 100% clear what is happening when you try to open the application if you're saying that no errors are being shown.

If it helps, could you record a screen recording of walking through the process so that we can try to narrow this down?

There's nothing to screen record. Uninstall and delete entire folder. Restart PC  run a fresh copy of 13.19 setup. Then nothing, shows it running and nothing. If I do the same with 13.17 it starts fine, even finds my steam and they run fine. I go into options and make sure to uncheck auto update and not download in the background. exit properly, wait a few and it still auto updates to 13.19.

Is there someway / folder  change/ hidden files to make it not update because for whatever reason it still does even though the options are unmarked?

Worse comes to worse I'll wait for another update I guess.

reinstalling 13.17, unmarking auto update and removing 13.19 from the updates folder worked; even though it was unmarked it was still updating with it in the folder. I got 13.17 running the right way. Now I just got the joy😡 of getting all my stuff back since I did a fresh install. Lesson learned. Keep everything out of the parent folder and backup the setup. I'll wait till at least 13.20 before upgrading again
