Tech127 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Can I have Big Box CriticalZone v2 Blue show Fan Art and not screen shot as background for all games? It downloads beautiful what I would call wallpaper images, but then shows either nothing or crappy in game images when I select a game, not the good stuff! Quote
CriticalCid Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Can you go into your LaunchBox options and check the Image Priorities for your background images? CriticalZone should use the image types based on what you have set up there. Quote
Tech127 Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 Yes, Cid. Perfect. Thank you for helping with n00b problems! 1 Quote
Tech127 Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 (edited) @CriticalCid I was wrong. The change applied in desktop mode, but I didn't try it in BigBox. It does NOT work in BigBox. It only shows the "Steam Screenshot" not fan art (or anything else for that matter) no matter what I change. I tried a couple other skins and they DO show the fan art and I changed absolutely zero settings other than selecting a different skin. This seems to be limited to CriticalZone or CriticalZone Blue only so there must be a setting there that either I can't find or CriticalZone isn't obeying the settings in image priorities Edited May 15 by Tech127 Quote
CriticalCid Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I’m not quite sure what to tell you. The theme is very old and you’re the first one who reported this issue. I just tested both versions myself and they work just fine here. What Views are you using? Are you 100% sure that the games that you’ve tested have fanart images associated to the correct image type (Fanart - Background)? Also make sure that “Fanart - Background” is at the very top of your Background Priorities. Quote
Tech127 Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 (edited) Leave it to me to like the oldest one. I honestly thought it was newer with the v2 but I guess not. I've attached screenshots so you can see I'm not totally crazy. All of that being said, I did find the problem. The skin defaults to Vertical View 2. I tested each of the others and my findings are as follows: Vertical Wheel 1 = shows fanart properly Vertical Wheel 2 = black screen Vertical Wheel 3 = black screen Vertical Wheel 4 = shows fanart properly Guess I just need to play with the views more or choose a newer skin, though I don't really care for any others personally. Thanks! . Edited May 15 by Tech127 Quote

You might need to go into the Options, then Big Box, then Images, and see what's listed in the priority order for the 'Background' image type. Make sure 'Fanart - Background' is higher up on the list than 'Screenshot - Gameplay' or 'Box - Front'. Edited May 16 by lamvira99 Quote

Thanks! . Ah, I see the problem now. Vertical Wheel 2 should play an animated background video instead of using background images. Vertical Wheel 3 plays the gameplay video on fullscreen (or displays screenshots if you have no gameplay videos available), so no fanart background either. Sorry for the confusion. I haven’t looked at this theme in years, so I totally forgot about that. My guess is that your ultrawide screen also messes a bit with the intended presentation because the theme was never designed for that aspect ratio. Quote
