Hello all,

i have some games which i play on a handheld device.

After i complete the game i mark it as complete in Launchbox and would also like to add/edit the playtime for this game.

Is this possible inside of Launchbox without 3rd party tools and if yes how?

Edit from within LaunchBox? No.  You are able to reset them (play-time and play-count) to 0.

Right-Click Game < Edit < Reset Play Count & Time

There is a feature request to allow for this.  Feel free to upvote (and comment,) if you wish.

Hi !

Actually you can modify the playtime manually, outside of LaunchBox (and when it's closed). You need to open the XML file relative to the game platform (e.g. Data\Platforms\Windows.xml) using a text editor (notepad or other), search for the game title, and manually edit the field <playtime> of this game (few lines below the title). For instance

<PlayTime>3600</PlayTime>

correspond to 1 hour duration (in sec.). You can also modify the field <Playcount>...

⚠️But of course, you have to be very careful to not modify any other field, or remove any character by mistake : the database would be unreadable! 😱 (remember that there is a backup of the database files every time you open or close Launchbox).

⚠️So do not try this if you don't know what you're doing 🙈🙉🙊

... It works, but it's not very convenient. So I voted for the aforementioned feature request : it would be much better to be able to modify it within Launchbox (and much safer for normal users!)

(I guess there's enough trigger warning in my message 😉)
