WraithTDK Posted August 2 Posted August 2 I noticed that when you let LaunchBox install and upgrade MAME, instead of upgrading the install in the same folder, it just installs a whole new copy (so I have a "MAME 0.278" and a "MAME 0.279" folder in my emulators folder). When it does this, does it move over your customizations? Specifically, I was looking at installing Mr. RetroLust's - Mame 4K - Lights Out - Realistic Bezels / Artwork. If I install this in the MAME 0.279 folder, when it comes time to have LaunchBox upgrade to MAME 0.280, will it move those bezels over automatically? Quote

Assuming you are running the MAME Arcade Full Set Wizard again, what will happen if you choose the Upgrade MAME option is that it first renames the emulator folder to match the new version number, then it runs an update on that folder. Therefore it doesn't need to move any of your customizations, as they are already there. What the upgrade process doesn't do is delete any of your customized files. So, while I don't think you'll have any issues between versions so close together, it's always good practice to read up on MAME changes and make sure there wasn't any changes to how bezels and custom configs work between the versions.
