Drakuor Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 I am having some difficulties getting the Android version of LaunchBox set up on my Onn 4K Streaming Box. I have it installed fine. I can load up LaunchBox just fine. I can import roms from the external USB drive attached. Where I run into difficulty is trying to launch games from within the APP itself. I have RetroArch installed, and can launch games directly from RetroArch, but LaunchBox will go to a black screen when attempting to launch games from within LaunchBox. What am I doing wrong? Please help! Quote
Vader Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 (edited) Hi @Drakuor I think i have run into this issue before. Check your emulator settings. Retroarch sometimes does not boot games correctly. Don't use the versions on the playstore, those are old and outdated. You need to sideload the most updated version. You can download it from the retroarch website to your external storage and then install it on the onn. There are multiple versions on the website, download the 32bit version, 64 bit will not work on the onn. Once installed make sure that you select retroarch (32 bit sideloaded) on the Launchbox emulator settings. Also make sure that you have the correct core downloaded within retroarch for the games you are trying to emulate. Hope this helps Edited September 30, 2025 by Vader Quote
Drakuor Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 Thanks! I will certainly give that a try. I appreciate the response! Quote
mirkamay Posted December 18, 2025 Posted December 18, 2025 This usually happens when LaunchBox isn’t correctly linked to RetroArch’s cores or the RetroArch activity path on Android. Make sure RetroArch is set as the default emulator in LaunchBox, the correct core is selected for each platform, and both apps have permission to access your USB storage; restarting after setting this often fixes the black screen issue.
