Launchbox Free - Video Snaps Not Working After Update

Hi,

I just updated to the latest version of Launchbox and noticed that my video snaps are now not appearing. They previously worked when it was still using the VLC player, but now this feature has been removed.  The videos do not appear in the sidebar, only screenshots and other images.

If I click on edit Meta Data for each game, I can go to videos and play the video that way, so the link to the folder is still correct.

My video Snaps are MP4 and work fine outside of Launchbox.

I've tried setting it up in Launchbox as FFMPEG as well as Windows Media Player, but either option won't show the video in the sidebar.

I've also tried updating again the latest Beta version, but I still have the same issue.

I've restarted my PC and still have the same issue.

Being the free version, I can't update the order of preference for what gets displayed. Not sure if the video is being blocked by this.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

If the videos had worked before in the Free version, it was a glitch. Video playback support is a Premium feature and is not [supposed to be] available in the Free version.

Thanks JoeViking. That's interesting. On the previous version every time I ran Launchbox I always had to go and manually tick the play videos setting before they would autoplay. I assume that was the glitch.

I seem to also be having this problem since latest upgrade, I am am on a licensed version and currently have no game video snaps working in either Launchbox or BigBox, they used to work fine before the update.Not sure if it as anything to do with the removal of the VLC video plugin, is there a way to add that plugin in back manually?

Since you've been around a while, I presume your license is a premium lifetime license. 

Do the videos show, and just not play?  As in if you click it, it'll start playing.  If so, maybe just a matter of: View < Media < Auto-Play Videos (or Ctrl+Alt+V)  For LaunchBox at least.

Yes i have a lifetime License, the videos do not play, every game just shows a still screenshot not sure if this is a still screen of the video or just a screenshot of the game.Checked the Auto-Play-Videos is already checked. Just to clarify in BigBox it show a still screenshot instead of the video snapshot but  in Launchbox it shows the 3D boxes instead of the video snaps, i am not to bothered about the video snaps not working in Launchbox but really wanted them to work in BigBox, why was the VLC plugging removed seems to be a slight coincidence that this has happened at the same time.

The Platform videos seem to play without any problems

If it's a video, you'll see the "Play" triangle.

(Grasping at straws...) if it's not displaying them, check Tools < Options < Visuals < Game Details - Show Videos

Just sorted it finally, it was in Options-Media-Video Priorities, I selected “Revert to Default”  from right hand side of screen clicked ok and all seems to be working as it should, well at least in Launchbox, just about to try in BigBox…….wish me luck.

Yes…….BigBox also working as should.
