Launchbox failing silently on a FailFast error

I was planning to try to import my existing Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher setup into Launchbox but have fallen at the first hurdle.  Every time I (or the installer) try to run the software it just fails silently.  I've spent about 3 hours with ChatGPT trying various things to get it working, and have got as far as figuring out that there's some kind of FailFast error that's killing it immediately - possiby related to failing to load the bundled .NET coreclr.dll

I have no idea why this should be happening - tried it on a different machine and it worked fine, I just have no idea why it won't load properly on my machine with HS/RL on it.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Typically first step would be to check Windows Event Viewer and look for application error logs tied to LB. Usually there will be two, one will just say it crashed and the other will give an actual reason for it. First step outside of that is to run the installer over the directory again, ensure that the files that need to be there are.
