How can I stop the damm stupid notificaction

It's not very often the integrated plugins actually need updating.  In the message/notification is a link to the plugins section [of the UI].  In that section, select the plugin  in question and click the Update button.  It will take 1, maybe up to 3 full seconds.  When done, it well tell you LaunchBox needs to restart.  Once restarted, you will not see the damn stupid notification.

Many people do, whether they realize it not.  Not saying you do use it, unknowingly.  This method of updating them allows rare, yet minor fixes to be pushed without the need for a complete new release of LaunchBox being pushed.  e.g. A fix can be realized within a matter of hours, rather than waiting until the next release.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I have this same problem, but I do tell it to update and whereas it restarts; and still complains that it needs to be updated. It says I have version 1.2 installed and need version 1.3.

I could understand if you enabled notifications by default so that inexperienced users don't unwittingly run into problems.

However, I am not inexperienced, and for me, the lack of an option to disable these notifications is unbearably patronizing.

I don't need any of the plugins. The messages come frequently and are extremely annoying. Really. Extremely. Annoying. Why don't you just add a checkbox to turn them off in the options? It would be very little effort for you, and for me (and certainly many other users) it would be an incomparable blessing for which I would praise you forever!

And ... another plugin update today. I've got 14 different Launchbox Instances up and running, which definitely don't use any of the plugins. Now I have to update all plugins in all 14 instances .. again. And again and again. I hate this notification sound when I start launchbox and there is another plugin update again. Meanwhile, I feel afraid to start launchbaox at all - always having to fear, there is yet another useless update which then takes a lot of time to get rid of. Again. And again.

I just don't understand the reason why I am not allowed to turn this notification off. It's beyond my imagination.

Just curious, which plugin was the update for?  Maybe it just hasn't been pushed here yet, but my last one was back in September [for the MAME integration].

MAME It says I have version 1.2 installed and need version 1.3.

That was the one that came out in September. I was curious about the one Arturo saw today.

For your situation (clicking update and restarting doesn't update it), I've seen reports saying they try it 3 or more times, and eventually the update takes.  You might (not tested) be able to... with LaunchBox not running, delete the MAME Integration folder under /Plugins/ and then start LaunchBox.

I'm not saying this is "the fix". But an interim means to resolving the issue you're seeing.

I would recommend filing a Bug Report though.  (Top is this page under Help & Support - File a Bug Report)

For me it was a MAME plugin update, just a couple of days before. And about one week before that, there were 3 oder 4 updates, but I don't remember which ones they had been.
