USB-Based Classic Flight & Star Wars Shooter Build

(BuyStuff Racing Cabinet – Two Identical Machines)

Project Overview

I am requesting a portable USB LaunchBox / Big Box build containing classic arcade and console flight / space shooter games, designed to run on a BuyStuff racing cabinet without modifying the internal system.

The build must be fully configured for a flight stick, specifically a Thrustmaster T.16000M, and be safe to run alongside existing racing controls (wheel + pedals).

This is a classic / low-spec focused build — modern PC games or high-end flight simulators are not required or desired.

Target System (Compatibility Reference)

  • Operating System: Windows 10

  • CPU: Ryzen 4650GE (integrated graphics)

  • Cabinet: BuyStuff Arcades racing cabinet

  • Primary Flight Control: Thrustmaster T.16000M

  • Existing Controls: Racing wheel & pedals (must remain functional)

Build Requirements

1. Portable / USB-Based Build

  • LaunchBox / Big Box installed entirely on USB

  • Runs from USB inside Windows (Windows is not booted from USB)

  • No modification to internal BuyStuff system

  • All emulators, configs, playlists, and input mappings stored on USB

2. Control Configuration

  • Thrustmaster T.16000M configured as primary flight control:

    • X/Y axes → pitch / roll

    • Buttons → fire, missiles, view, etc.

  • Preferred: gas pedal mapped as analog thrust for flight games only

  • All mappings must be done at the emulator level

  • No global remapping tools

  • Racing wheel & pedal behavior must not be impacted

3. Game Scope (Classic / Low-Spec Only)

No modern PC games. No high GPU/CPU requirements.

Example Titles (or appropriate equivalents):

Star Wars

  • Sega Star Wars Arcade

  • Empire Strikes Back (Arcade)

  • Return of the Jedi (Arcade)

  • Star Wars Trilogy Arcade

  • Star Wars (Sega 32X)

Sega / Arcade Flight

  • After Burner

  • After Burner II

  • G-LOC Air Battle

  • Thunder Blade

  • Space Harrier

  • Galaxy Force II

  • Sky Target

  • Strike Fighter

Other Classic Flight / Space Shooters

  • Starblade

  • Xevious

  • Zaxxon

  • Silpheed

  • RayForce / Layer Section

  • Sin & Punishment (if appropriate to setup)

Final game list can be confirmed during the build.

4. Emulation

Use stable, appropriate emulators for:

  • Arcade platforms

  • Sega 32X

  • Console flight shooters as applicable

All selections must run smoothly on a Ryzen 4650GE with integrated graphics.

5. Frontend / Organization

  • Big Box “Flight / Space Shooters” playlist or category

  • Clean naming and metadata

  • Artwork and videos where available

  • No interference with existing BuyStuff categories or playlists

Second System Validation (Identical Hardware)

The final USB build must be tested and validated on two identical BuyStuff racing cabinets (same OS, CPU, and control hardware).

  • The build is created once

  • The second machine is used for verification and confirmation only

  • No separate custom build is required for the second system

  • Minor adjustments, if needed, may be made to confirm identical behavior

Testing & Verification

Before delivery:

  • Verify flight stick control in at least:

    • One Star Wars arcade title

    • One Sega flight shooter

  • Confirm smooth analog thrust operation

  • Confirm racing controls remain unaffected

  • Confirm USB operates stand-alone on Windows 10

Delivery

  • USB drive or USB image ready for use

  • Brief documentation covering:

    • How to launch the build

    • Control mappings

    • How to add additional flight titles later

  • Optional short remote test session preferred

Explicitly Out of Scope

  • No modern PC or Steam games

  • No high-spec flight simulators

  • No global remapping tools (JoyToKey, etc.)

  • No changes to BuyStuff internal system

Experience Level Requested

This project is intended for a LaunchBox / Big Box power user with experience in:

  • Arcade cabinets

  • Flight controls

  • Multi-device input mapping

  • Portable / reversible builds

Budget

Open to fair market pricing for a professional, tested build, including USB creation and validation on two identical systems.
