Jasonmcclure4848 Posted Friday at 04:50 PM Posted Friday at 04:50 PM I have been gettin an error for a long time on launchbox and then it crashes. I posted in here a while back and gentlemen told me to get the beta version and that should fix it. I did that, and it still isn't working right. I have tried to give it some time hoping eventually it would be fixed, but it still does not work. Can someone please help me solve this problem? Thank you inadvance for your help. Caroline Harper Posted Saturday at 06:33 AM Posted Saturday at 06:33 AM This error usually points to corrupted or invalid data in the LaunchBox database, often related to imported metadata or media. Here are a few steps that typically resolve this: Backup your LaunchBox folder first. Go to your LaunchBox directory and open the Data folder. Try temporarily renaming the Platforms.xml and Games.xml files (for the platform that crashes) and then restarting LaunchBox. This helps identify if a specific platform or game entry is causing the index error. If LaunchBox opens after that, the issue is almost always a bad game entry or malformed metadata. You can re-import that platform cleanly. Also, check Tools → Manage → Platforms and remove any empty or duplicate platforms. Make sure you are running the latest stable release, not the beta, unless specifically asked by support. If the crash happens during imports, try disabling image and metadata downloads temporarily and re-import. If the issue persists, posting the full Diagnostics ZIP (Help → Upload Diagnostics) will help the devs pinpoint exactly which entry is causing the crash. Quote

bran479 Posted Sunday at 04:55 PM Posted Sunday at 04:55 PM I had this exact same error and turning off automatic rom import made it stop. It would always crash randomly. I made a debug report but I never can replicate it exactly. Quote
bran479 Posted Sunday at 04:56 PM Posted Sunday at 04:56 PM wish it was easier to track down which plaform is the issue. Quote
bran479 Posted Sunday at 05:37 PM Posted Sunday at 05:37 PM dont have any duplicate platforms so not sure which causing the error. Quote
