sshrugg Posted Thursday at 11:30 AM Posted Thursday at 11:30 AM In order to achieve something like this, I have to edit Parents.xml manually. Any edits to these playlists or platforms in the GUI breaks it. Could the devs use their magic-sauce and (pretty please) allow nesting platforms in platforms? I'm sure it would be a big structure change in a lot of ways. I'm sure some of the devs will say it's against their core design philosophy. But just think about how neat it would be, eh? I mean - it would be pretty neat. Quote
Tsik Posted Thursday at 12:00 PM Posted Thursday at 12:00 PM Hi, may I ask what this "nested platform" feature will provide more/better than the already existing "Platform Category" which does not? 🙂 You know, just asking... Quote

sshrugg Posted Friday at 02:43 AM Author Posted Friday at 02:43 AM These workarounds make sense, but it creates another menu to descend into when using BigBox to get to the games. The other platforms listed here are hidden from BigBox, and nested just because they are part of the eXoIF set. I am starting with all the eXoSets, and then adding MAME/ROMs onto that - so it gets pretty huge. This strategy just helps me keep things organized in Launchbox similar to the category suggestions you are making, but also avoids that "Extra" directory in the BigBox Platform Category view, which is the main view I prefer to use. 1 Quote

That's a nice statement and I have to admit that I personally would find this feature useful for that reason. I don't use BigBox much and now that I think about it maybe that's one reason I don't.
