I noticed today that none of my games have individual bezels. I tested this with games I know had bezels on a previous install (on a drive that died on me, so I started over). To test I grabbed a few games and checked for new images and made sure I told it to get the "theme bezels". I watched as the status bar downloaded a bezel for the game, but when I launched the game there was just the system bezel. How can I be sure I'm getting the theme bezel to load when it is available?

I'm using Retroarch and MAME and downloaded all my bezels through The Bezel Project. I have been using the defaults for Launch Box with good luck so far.

I was able to get a lot of the bezels working at about 3 this morning by going through the process to update all the meta data, selecting to only download bezels, and telling it to replace existing data.

I have noticed the games that don't load with bezels in Retroarch now are games that load with this banner stating which game file is being loaded before the game starts. I'll share a screen grab that shows what I'm talking about. The games that load right up in Retroarch are displaying the bezels just fine.

Assuming overlays are turned on like mentioned above, the most common issue is naming between the rom and the bezel. Just looking at the name of the rom in your picture, I can tell you there is no bezel with that rom name.

1. launchbox itself has nothing to do with RA bezels...they are separate things
2. probably a broken reference in the config.
Navigate to [ra folder]>Config> [core name folder]>corename.slangp (if it exists) and check the reference path for the bezel and make sure that exists ...you should see something like
"#reference ":/shaders/Mega Bezel_Packs/Duimon-Mega-Bezel/Presets/Standard/Nintendo_NES/NES-[STD]-[Guest]-[Bezel].slangp" ....follow that path (your path will be different) and see if the bezel exists there... if it's not the same as what is listed in your slangp file...that's the issue. If the slangp file doesn't exist at all, that is also the issue.
