I'm not certain how this works, so I had to post here because we need it.

So what is Pioneer Laserdisc?

The LaserActive (パイオニアレーザーアクティブ) is a video game-compatible LaserDisc player designed and manufactured by Pioneer. Released in Japan and North America in late 1993, the system features interchangeable hardware expansions known as PACs, which enable compatibility with Mega Drive and Mega-CD games, PC Engine and PC Engine CD-ROM² games, and a new type of LaserDisc-based format: Mega LD and LD-ROM².

NEC produced a rebranded version of the system, the NEC PCE-LD1

What emulator can I use to run it?

The Ares v147 is the first emulator to officially support Sega Mega LD and NEC LD games for the Pioneer LaserActive.

This was achieved after a 16-year reverse-engineering effort by developer Nemesis to preserve this rare hardware.

We need to add this request to the Launchbox game database so we can start adding all the images and media.

To make an "official" request, at the top of this page click Help & support and select Request a Feature.

That way it'll get 'logged' to-be-looked-into.  vs. "Hey! That's a great request! I'll have to remember to look into that.  [time passes...] What was I supposed to look into? Maybe if I look through the myriad of posts I'll remember.  Now... was that on the forums? Discord? Facebook? X?..."  etc. etc. ;)

After the post becomes public, be sure to post a link to it here so others that come across this can go and upvote it.
