Emulator123 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) I've been testing different emulator settings recently and was surprised by how much performance can vary depending on the configuration. For those using Switch, PlayStation, or arcade emulators, what single setting or tweak gave you the biggest FPS improvement or stability boost? I'm especially interested in: GPU accuracy settings Shader cache options Resolution scaling VSync settings Low-end PC optimizations Please share your hardware specs and the settings that worked best for you. It would be interesting to compare results across different systems. Edited June 9 by Emulator123 Quote
Armindesk Posted June 3 Posted June 3 From the settings I’ve tested, shader cache and resolution scaling made the biggest difference for me. Shader cache reduced stutter a lot in heavier scenes, and dropping resolution scaling slightly gave a big FPS boost without losing too much visual quality. GPU accuracy tweaks helped too, but mostly in terms of stability rather than raw FPS. What about others here—any setting that surprised you? 1 Quote
Emulator123 Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Interesting that shader cache had such a noticeable impact for you. I've seen similar results in a few Switch emulators where shader compilation stutter was a bigger issue than average FPS. When you lowered resolution scaling, how much of a performance gain did you see, and what hardware are you running? It would be useful to compare results across different GPUs. Quote
