Well, I finally got around to putting together my first plug-in; it's probably not perfect but so far it seems to do what I want.

As an easter-egg on my Arcade cabinet, I wanted to play a song, note by note, while navigating menus... navigate at the right speed and you'll hear the song play.

if anyone wants to play around with it:

  1. Extract this to your plugins folder.
  2.  Open the SequentialNavigationSoundPlugin.settings.xml and edit the <SoundPackName> value to match the sound pack folder you want to use.
    Example: <SoundPackName>Multi-Sound Default</SoundPackName>
  3. Make sure there are multiple move sounds in the Sound pack move folder.
    Example: C:\LaunchBox\Sounds\Multi-Sound Default\Move
         MOVE001.wav
         MOVE002.wav
         MOVE003.wav
         etc...

In Launchbox:

  1. Click on Menu (in the upper left)
  2. Choose Tools
  3. Choose Enable Sequential Navigation Sounds.

In Big Box

  1. Go to Options > Sound > Navigation Sound(s) and disable it. (it'll play multiple navigation sounds if you don't)
  2. Back out to the main Options menu and locate "Enable Sequential Navigation Sounds" and select it.
