hokuem Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Hello! I recently changed my Playstation 1 emulator from Duckstation to RetroArch in Launchbox. It was working fine, but since I updated to Launchbox 14.0, when launching a PS1 game I get a black screen. However, I can hear all the right sounds and can press the buttons, so I hear the intro, can start a game, I can hear myself move etc. But all of this with a black screen only. All other Retroarch consoles / cores work fine If I open RetroArch and manually load the PS1 core and a PS1 game, it works fine. RetroArch has the checkmark next to all PS1 firmware files / md5 check. PS1 games are in CHD format. I tried two different PS1 cores (mednafen_psx_libretro and mednafen_psx_hw_libretro), same problem. I tried enabling Debug logs to see if I can spot an error, but only find logs related to the Launchbox UI, not once I start a game? Any ideas what to try next? Since launching directly from RetroArch works fine, it seems the issue is somewhere between Launchbox and RetroArch. EDIT: Ha, finally found something interesting! If I disable Game Startup Screen, it works fine! But since I use Game Startup Screen for all other consoles and I'd like to keep it, any ideas what can be causing the issue? I'm on Windows 11 if it helps. Thank you! Edited 7 hours ago by hokuem Quote

But might try checking/un-checking these 3 options and see if any combination there-of fixes it. Myself, I'd stick with DuckStation. But that's a personal opinion. Quote
hokuem Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Ahh, I never saw Emulators had Startup Screen options, that definitely helped, thank you! Yes I liked DuckStation, but with so many consoles I already have too many different keyboard shortcuts / in-game menus to remember, and trying to simplify this as much as possible. Cheers! 1 Quote
