Unable to get metadata for Final Fantasy VII (Windows)

Hi all,

No matter what I do, I can't get the metadata search to find plain ol' Final Fantasy 7 for Windows (id: 5236). It always gives me the 'other' Final Fantasy 7 games like Crisis Core or Rebirth.. or even a homebrew game.



I've tried various different ways of typing Final Fantasy VII, and ensured my platform is Windows, but I just can't get it to give the right game as an option.

It's really long overdue now for Launchbox to allow you to specify exactly which database ID you want for an entry... (Great software still!)

Check the games application path.  Verify it's pointing to the game you want.  steam://rungameid/3837340

If you're using the exe, temporarily put in the above.

Go back to the metadata tab and put in Final Fantasy VII.

Click Search for metadata.

Select the game.

Click LaunchBox DB ID #5496 to bring up Final Fantasy VII, online DB ID #5236
