I've had my license for quite a while now but honestly never really used launchbox, however awesome I thought it was. The reason was mainly because I didn't need to play all these games.

Now, my view has shifted a little, especially since I bought my mini PC. It's quite the little beast but it annoys me terribly that it starts on windows. Now I already know I can change this with bigbox and some tweaking, but I would really like to use my mini pc for a little more than JUST games, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with advice on how to get this done. Not just with a nice bigbox theme that would suit this, but perhaps other pointers as well. Some of my wishes:

-An interface from which i can create my own subcategories, so i can simply divide my programs, games/couch-coop, webbrowser and perhaps even an integrated version of windows explorer(?) to still be able to move files around and stuff.
-Accessing and shutting off normal programs should result in going back to bigbox, not exiting to windows.
-Of course (but this is not a worry for me) the whole interface should be controllable by either a normal controller but also a digipad or different.
-No gaming wheels like most of the themes out there. I would like something that actually doesnt move that much except for when I enter a large folder.

Is something like this feasible? and how?

Thx in advance!

You can sort of do what you want but it won't really be like an operating system, you can put anything that you can run on Windows in there. That includes .exes, shortcuts etc... I once did it and had firefox recycling bin outlook mail jdownloader certain web pages that I could go directly to music movies and of course games in mine.  With autohotkey scripts I keep my Launchbox maximized at all time if I accidentally close it it will automatically reopen and it can't be minimized. It's almost like my desktop wallpaper, but anything I want to use in front of it firefox etc... work fine so it's not intrusive. Plus my taskbar is still showing at all times to easily get to any program I need to.
