I love this theme and its great how customizable it is, the only issue I found its with the videos at first the "Preview video" doesnt show I hear the audio so its playing in the background, but if go to the game details and I come back the video shows itself

Having the same issue that was mentioned above. However, this is a really beautiful and well designed theme with only a few minor issues. By any chance was this made with CTC? If so, can you provide the CTC files? 

We need support.

Text list view is broken:




System icons overlay the banner. That's right ?

Gameplay videos do not play on first pass through game list. Only audio is played :



Need to advance to the play screen and go back one level to get the audio and video running proper:






Wall View 4 is empty:



Also, browsing through arcade lists is impossible. Each pick takes approximately 3 seconds to move selector.

Hmmm, can’t understand why that happens with the videos as I tested every game in every platform to make sure videos were working before I uploaded theme & all was good. Are you using vlc player or wmp player for videos?. The textlistview was left in by mistake & not part of the theme. Wallview4 requires steam banners only. There are instructions in a supplied file how to do this. I will look into what’s going on with the videos. As for the system icons overlaying the banner, your Device images must be selected as another image like clear logos or something in your launchbox image platform/priorities settings

for my part I am using vlc player, the strange thing is that the videos work correctly in wallview4

Thanks bundangdon, I will release the CTC files at some point however please be advised that this is a HYBRID theme ie part Community Theme Creater & part XML files so it is very messy as all the Wheel & Wall view elements are in XML due to CTC not supporting these elements.

Ok guys, in regards to the video problem I have found the culprit which is vlc player. I have my videos play through wmp player without any problems. Go into BigBox Main Menu/Options/Videos & change Video Playback Engine from VLC to Windows Media Player then this should solve the issues. Also this has corrected the problem with System icons overlaying the banners.

Wow, that would be really appreciated. I'm not so good with XML, and the only thing I wanted to do is add the videos/screenshots in with the textlist view and not much else beyond that. Anyways, thanks again and congrats on another great theme!

Love the theme, great job!

Just a small question not sure if this is the theme or Big Box. Is there a way to remove the game title at the footer of the image? No bother if it cannot be done just thought I'd ask.

 

Yes, If you open any of the game view files with any text editor such as notepad in the theme you can. eg Play Box 6/Views/WallGamesView/Super Nintendo Entertainment System & delete the text from the Wheel that is highlighted in the text document attached.

Awesome theme! One issue I've found - if you run a search across platforms and it only returns one result, it doesn't show (only screenshots if they exists).

I imagine this was never the intended view but I'm liking using Steam Banners under Wall Game View 4, I like how it show the Steam Banner and then fades in to gameplay vision. However I am struggling to find these banners I have come across steamgriddb.com which as a good selection but it will be a very manual process.

The problem is on steamgriddb the banners typically have dimensions of 460x215 and logos etc are being cut off in this view:

This will already be a very manual task of downloading a banner for each game, without having to manual adjust the dimensions to fix. Is there a way to adjust these dimensions in game view or dynamically scale the image to fit?

I seem to get the same result even in the Default theme until i move left or right then they appear

This view is for steam banners only & all banners need to be 400x215 in dimensions. There is no way to adjust dimensions in game view to dynamically scale i'm afraid as this view was more of a personal one for myself as i don't have a large collection of games per platform.

Thanks, what I thought. Unfortunately I cannot find any a comprehensive banner resources that provides them in them dimensions. I appreciate they cannot dynamically scale however is it possible to change the dimensions of Game View 4 from 400x215 to 460x215?

You could try changing the width in the Wheel section of the Wheel4GamesView with any text editor such as Notepad. I have uploaded an example highlighted in Steam Banner Dimensions.doc & see how it looks.

So basically if we want Steam banners we'll have to use the normal banners from Games database and save those as 400x215 in photoshop or the like. I know there's macro functions built into photoshop that could make this step go very smoothly but unfortunately my PS skills are very limited. Maybe if someone could make a template or a script that does this to save lots of time.

I love this theme and I use it as my primary now. I did want to share a couple issues and thoughts:

- I'm not a huge fan of the blue "Play Now" button. I'd vote for removing it.

- Videos don't seem to play for Windows/Steam games. I'm using Windows Media Player for playback which was required to get other platform videos to load, but I can't get the Steam games to work.

- On the home screen when navigating "Recently Played" for a platform, if the game doesn't have fan art background, the platform video continues to play (which is probably fine), but the clear logo for the game is then shown on top of the platform logo and looks kind of ugly and hard to read. Might be better to move the clear game logo up so it doesn't overlay with the platform logo. Also I might suggest just showing a screenshot from the game instead of using the logos if there's no fan art background.

Again, thanks so much for this theme, it's awesome!

For Steam videos to play with WMP backend you need to install the .webm codec on your computer for Windows Media Player. Once you do that they should play.
