What I'm asking you to do DOES this...
I believe the issue you're having is your not describing the situation or your desires correctly. Are you hoping to import the following:
Game A (USA)
Game A (EU)
Game B (JP)
and only see Game B in the playlist?
It sounds at this point like you may be trying to create an auto-pop playlist with logic that requires knowing about your entire library and not just that individual game. Something like, "Find all the games who's DB ID isn't duplicated ever". This isn't currently possible and wouldn't be by adding your request. Auto-pop playlists look at each game individually and applies the filter logic to that one game before moving onto the next.Correct, I'm looking for comparison logic which will give Game A (USA), Game A (EU), Game B (JP) = Game B (JP). Figured LB might have an option for it since it basically has an Audit List capability already built in per platform which would make it easy to do the comparison. I Can always have Ai do the comparison and make the Data xml, but just thought it would be nice if there was a work around already built into launchbox.

I suggest you manually sort your ROMs into separate folders, then import them individually as separate platforms.
This is the work around that I've come to use.
That's currently what I'm doing, but wanted to create a playlist combining all 3 platforms which only shows the games which exist within a single platform only. Thus giving me the region exclusive games.
-
Correct, My games are all listed under the LB DB information by their region which is how I'm sorting them into playlists. Launchbox contains options for Contains, Doesn't Contain, Contains any value, and doesn't contain any value, but it needs an option for Contains only 1 of the values (XOR)
Right now hes asking me to use
Region - Is Equal to - USA
Region - Is Equal to - Japan
Region - Is Equal to - Europe
which will show all 3, but what i need is....
Region - Contains only one of the values - USA, Japan, Europe (Or something Similar)

As stated.... NO it won't... If you'd do what was asked you'd already see this in action. As previously stated Region is a single string field NOT multi-string. Equal To checks the entire string is equal to the criteria. If the game's region is "North America, Europe" (without quotes) and you utilize the playlist filter: Region - Is Equal To - North America, then the game is NOT picked up. It WOULD be if you had Region - Contains - North America.
All you need for any of the playlists you've mentioned thus far is the equal to comparison. For the 4th you'd just have all three filters in so that LB uses it's OR comparisons:
Region - Is Equal To - North America
Region - Is Equal To - Europe
Region - Is Equal To - Japan
Doing so would grab all games who's region is EXACTLY one of those 3 values and NOT include games that have region strings similar to "North America, Europe" (without quotes).I understand what you're saying. However, Most PS1 Games are labeled something like this...
Silent Hill (USA)
Silent Hill (Europe)
Silent Hill (Japan).
AND NOT LIKE THIS
Silent Hill (USA, Europe)
Silent Hill (Europe, Japan)
Silent Hill (Japan, North America).
As you see there's a separate game for each region (Not 1 game with multiple regions listed). I only want the game to show up if it DOES NOT show up in another region. I would need XOR logic not OR logic. when i do what you're saying they all 3 show up, because the games aren't labeled Silent Hill (USA, Europe), Silent Hill (USA, Japan) etc. etc. If there's no XOR logic then my only other thought would be to use Launchbox IDs, but even then I can't figure out how to not show a game if there's more than 1 game with the same Launchbox ID. And another option would be to separate each of them into different platforms, but even then there's still no way to have launchbox only display a game if it exists in ONLY 1 out of the 3 platforms based off it's name, region or LB ID. Basically trying to show games ONLY if there are no duplicates of that game. Hope this makes sense.

Region - Is Equal To - {Region Value}
Region is a single string field so you just check that the value is exactly equal to what you want it to be and it checks the entire value instead of checking each value in it like multi-value fields do (like genre and series)I have my PS2 Games setup with 3 playlists currently. One playlist for US games, One for EU games, and one for JP Games. I'm trying to create a 4th playlist which only shows games that exist within a single playlist (EU, US or Asia), thus giving me region exclusive games. Region is equal to will give me all games which contain that region, but i dont want those games to appear if the game exists in multiple regions/playlists.
-
I'm trying to create Exclusive Or Logic to only display games that exist within a single region. Such as creating a playlist within PS2 that pulls all games from EU, JP and US and only shows the games which exist only within a single region, and excluding them if they exist in multiple regions, so i can see region exclusive games. any idea how to create the XOR logic?
-
I have my games sorted into region folders, and I'm trying to create a playlist to only show games which are listed within in a single region only (ex. Exclusive Or "XOR" US, JP or EU). that way i can view only the region specific games. However within the Auto Populate feature within the create playlist I cant figure out which combination to use to achieve this, because under Region there's no XOR option for "Only contains 1 of these values" or something similar. Any ideas how to achieve this?

Is there anyway to make the 3D boxes not lag when they bounce in? i switched launchbox to a m.2 nvme drive to try to fix the lag, but even that doesnt help and leads me to belive its just related to the theme. Do the boxes bouncing in lag/stutter for everyone else when doing there bounce effect? also using a 14900k CPU and 5600mhz ddr5 ram if it matters.
Anyone using this theme have issues with the 3d "rotateable" boxes stuttering when they bounce in? Still looking for a solution if anyone knows. Thanks

Any chance someone is still checking this thread out? I am trying to use this with Attract Mode. When I select a game, it will launch Phoenix, go into fullscreen, but it does not load the selected ROM - it just gives me the "insert disc" picture on the screen. I have tried most every configuration of command arguments using "[romfilename]" and -filename I can think of, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any experience with setting this up? Thanks.
I switched to the newer BIGPEmu emulator because it plays the entire jaguar library with 100% compatibility. If you haven't tried it you may wanna give it a try. I pasted the link to their site below

I remember seeing these over the years. Are you making these available for download or just showcasing what you've made thus far?

I have my ps3 games in iso format and then they're mounted automatically and unmounted when I quit the game. I have my updates and DLCs in a separate folder that launchbox can't scan. If they're all in the same folder it will probably confuse LB

You can get more if you just manually install it (Don't go though the MAME function)
I just installed it manually using working only (no clones) dummy zip files (approx 4,600) and it works fine.
Trust me, you do not want to install all 40,971 as 85/90% are clones.
lol actually just updated my post, and found it was a bug, But Yeah wasnt trying to install all 40k roms lol. was just thinking the importer wasn't letting me alter the ones i wanted, because i found that the number in the full set importer is bugged, and if you make changes by clicking the back button then clicking next again (After making changes) the number in the bottom right where it says how many games are being imported wont change, but the list of games will 😣.
-
I'm trying to import a new Unaltered 0.261 full (Non-Merged rom set with all the Merged CHDs), but no matter what generas I include/exclude it wants to import exactly 3183 roms every time. I'm using a new official mame exe installed through LB. Any ideas? The set has 40,971 zip files total.
UPDADE: ok so it seems to be a bug. If you go through the mame importer then get to the end where it shows you how many games its going to import and click back to change something, after youve made your changes and click next again the full set importer will still tell you its going to import the same amount of games as before even though the list of games has changed. So basically the number on the bottom right isn't updating after making changes.

Is it possible to update the mame romset in launchbox and preserver the playlists and settings such as desired emulators for mame games that dont use mame? Just annoying having to go through and change model 2 and 3, gaelco, hikaru, naomi, atomiswave etc to use their correct emulators all over again each time, as well as having to set up certain playlists launchbox doesnt automatically create when importing mame games

Is there a way to make the game discovery center selectable in the platforms list?

Can already be done via Pause menu
The pause menu looks nice, but it relies on M3U files and doesn't work with every emulator. Based on my experience with Big Box, it would be nice to have a simple popup with a list of disk numbers, bonus disks, and specials to appear before launching a multi-disk game. This could be enabled as an option, and would only appear when clicking play on a multi-disk game, not games with only multiple versions. I believe this would also be more user friendly and more immersive than having to go into the multiple apps section for people who are not familiar with the Big Box/LaunchBox interface.
Example: When clicking Play on Resident Evil 2 inside of Big Box you would see a semi transparent window pop up asking...
Which Disk Would You Like To Load?
- Disk 1 Leon
- Disk 2 Claire
- Special Bonus Audio Disk

Unless I'm misunderstanding you the thing you're requesting is already built into our additional app feature. You can set the disk number on the app. We can build a m3u file for you and pass it to the emulator if you have that option disabled. We also have the ability to change disc in the pause menu when doing so. The only thing NOT asked is what disc you want to load, you do have to pick the disc through the versions menu on either LaunchBox or Big Box
Thanks for trying to help C-Beats. Yeah, i guess additional apps just seems like they should be listed sepertaly from multiple disks, but seeing as how they're already programmed to be one in the same i guess the main thing would just be adding an option to have a popup when a game a launched with multiple disks so users not familiar with the launchbox frontend can have it be user friendly. Especially seeing as how someone already went to the trouble to program multiple disks into launchbox (mainly for m3u files im assuming) just kinda makes sense, and would just make it cleaner in my opinion.
-
Would it be hard to impliment Multi Disk Support into launch box in the form of something seperate but similar to additinal apps? and if launchbox knows you've listed more than 1 disk with the selected title then when clicking to play that game it will specifically ask which disk/version you wish to play (Including options for Special Disks, Bonus Disks etc.
Also, as you know m3u files dont work for every emulator, and they're also kinda not as attractive to use since only the main user of launchbox knows how to access them through retroarch. So far ive just been listing my games like Final Fantasy (Disk 1), Final Fantasy (Disk 2) etc. which isnt to pretty to scroll through. Anyway, be cool to see Multi-Disk get some love after all these years, and implemented as a main feature in some form or another.

This may simply be an issue with the mouse and it's driver. I have a Razer mouse and had to dump the poll rate because it'd cause most apps and games to stutter like you're describing.
thanks. i only brought it up because i hadnt noticed any problems in any games or apps outside of launchbox, but who knows you could be right since i dont have another logitech gaming mouse to experment with.
-
when using a higher report rate for the mouse such as 1000 times per second the 3d models will freeze/glitch every couple seconds when being rotated with the mouse, which im assuming shouldnt happen. When i lower the mouse report rate to 250 which is normal for non gaming mice the problem goes away.

Doesn't seem to be working for me again. Anyone using this with success as of now? I did update the file and was working about a month ago but tried today and didn't find any videos.
https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/releases/download/2023.07.06/yt-dlp.exe
Try downloading the yt-dlp.exe from this link and replace the one in your plugin folder to see if that fixes the problem

I updated the Graphics Drivers but that didnt seem to fix anything. There isnt much in the way of settings for the 3D boxes so not much to tweak... Really strange, thanks though 🤔

Thanks for replying. I'm Running an Nvidia RTX2060 with drivers at 531.61. havent updated them in like 6 months but Ill update them when i get home and report back.

I created a program that everyone can use since the Game comparison logic wasn't built into Launchbox. This program will compare all your games (XML Files) from whichever platform/playlist xml files you want (Which are in your Data Folder), and then give you a list of unique games FOR EACH xml file in a .txt file which are not found in the other xml files. It then allows you to create txt files in subfolders titled with the unique game names so you can import them, You'll just need to manually changing the file extensions of the imported txt files (e.g., from .txt to the appropriate format such as .ISO, .CSO, .7z, or .Zip) using the batch rename function in notepad.
