A few days ago I read @faeran's October 25th comment on the beta forum which I think really explains the current state of Launchbox. As users we need to remember that the Launchbox team has other priorities aside from Launchbox. They have family, work, school etc. So, it would be impossible for them to work on Launchbox 24/7. What they have brought us up to know is a very good product, probably one of the best emulator frontends on the market. For that Thank you!!!. With that said, I would like to address some things that many of us here are probably thinking about but have not said out loud. 1. For a paid product, Launchbox needs to be a bit more refined. Although we are here to help you beta test new releases, I think more internal testing needs to be done, prior to release. I think most of us would agree that it is very frustrating that with almost every new bata release, something unrelated to the bata almost always breaks. Then you have to waste time going back to fix what should not have been broken in the first place. 2. Add video downloads as part of the paid version of Launchbox. Asking users to pay upwards of 75.00 for Launchbox and then an additional $20 for access to emumovies is a little excessive. I understand that you are probably trying to help emumovies generate a little income, but you have to also think of the user. I know there are ways to import download videos, etc, but this should be the exemption not the rule. Screenscraper should be added to Launchbox as an option. And yes I understand why you refuse to add screenscraper to Launchbox. 3. Temporarily pause adding any new feature to Launchbox and please concentrate on fixing and/or investigating the many issues that users have reported that have not been resolved. New features are great but not at the expense of lingering issues not being addressed. 4. Fix Launchbox for Android. There are many issues that need to be addressed, which have not been addressed. The UI could use an overhaul (this might be wishful thinking), and functionality could use little work. 5. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Your hard work is apricated Finally, just remember, minor little annoyances, like what I have mentioned here can make a big difference between a user wanting to stay with and financially support Launchbox or them switching to other emulator frontends. I have said my peace, May the Force Be With You!!

Good morning @C-Beats I agree with you, but in my case I did not make any changes to the my files or folder attributes. Also I have the same issue with two different builds of Launchbox. One is on my pc hard drive and the other is on an external hard drive. I got the same error trying to delete files on both drives. No attributes were changed on either drive. thanks

Update to previous post: I did some digging and found that the error message is correct. Launchbox is having an issue with windows file permissions. I experimented by going to my arcade folder, right clicking it and unchecking the read only attribute for the folder (this is a normal default windows attribute for all folders). As soon as I removed this attribute, I was able to properly delete a game in launchbox and the file was removed. However soon after the file was deleted, the read only attribute came back. So this is definitely an issue within Launchbox. @C-Beats @faeran Any ideas on what is going on here? Thanks

Good evening I am having an issue where Launchbox does not delete roms, when I delete a game from the system. I have the option to delete roms checked, and I get the warning message that the rom will be deleted, but the rom does not actually delete. The game is removed from the system, but the roms remains. This is with a mame rom set. The following is the error message i am getting. The file is not in user by any other app and the file is not read only. Please advise.

ahh yes that fixed it. Thought it was the same issue as before. Thanks

Hello and Happy 4th of July I just updated to 13.15 full version, and I am now getting plug-in pop up again. Thanks
-
He is correct, my original list had 3408 roms, which didn't import. I then used a split romset which had close to 8000 files and that worked. So I guess there is a threshold of some kind.
-
I actually deleted the folder so I don't have an accurate count of files. But If I had to guess I would say about 4 to 5 thousand files.
-
It's a merged set. I did remove quite a bit of roms, as I wanted a set that did not have extra's such as playchoice, casino, mahjong. etc. I went this route because I wanted to have clones, might have to switch to a split set and import using regular import.
-
@faeran Can you guys look into this? I am trying to import a mame romset and I get this error. I am for the most part using a full mame romset, but some roms were removed to reduce space. . I used to be able to import semi-full sets, but now I can't Thanks
-
I also noticed an issue where big box crashes when loading from launchbox. Screen just turns black and I have to exit out via task manager. Thanks
-
I guess that explains why I can't scrape images. I'm trying to import a new game but am getting the following error scraping images. I guess i'll have to wait until its fixed.

As a follow-up I removed the arcade platform and installed an NES platform. The issue persists with this platform, as well.

Thank you, deleting the keyboard view file fixed the issue with the on-screen keyboard. However, the other issue still exists. I just copied my build to a mini pc that I have, and the same issue occurs there too. Note, I am using a full mame romset only, no other platforms have been installed yet. To reproduce trying scrolling back and forth and then stop on any letter. It seems worse on cover flow views. Also, I am using a keyboard. I have not tried it with a controller yet. Basically, it seems like the images can't keep up with the search by letter widget.

@faeran @Jason Carr Here is the latest info that I have on the issue. As I mentioned before, I am having an issue with the search by letter widget on bigbox. No matter what theme I use, any time I open up the widget to search by letter, the letter seems to not match the game selected. For example, If I scroll to the letter P, I will get a game that starts with the letter M. See example on the screenshot below. . I have tried several different troubleshooting steps, such as reinstalling Launchbox, moving my roms to the same drive that lauchbox is installed on and removing other programs that I thought might be causing a conflct. Nonthing seems to work. Also I just noticed that If I select the magnifying glass to search for a game I get a full screen, on-screen keyboard that is useless, see screenshot below. This has now become a deal breaker for me. Please look into this. My system: HP Envy x360 Laptop 8 gb of memory 256gb ssd hd
