  1. You found one thing that was off! The Arcade/Games directory was incorrect. The structure of the machine is: C:/Emulators/Mame (the mame.exe folder) C:/Emulators/Launchbox (where launchbox lives) C:/ROMs/ (all the .zips and CHD folders) I changed Arcade/Games to C:/ROMs, but this did not fix the problem. I was surprised, so I tried the following: -I double checked that Mame could see and play the ROMs - it can -I right-clicked a game in Launchbox and selected "Open Game Folder..." and it opened the correct folder. -I right-clicked a game in Launchbox and selected "Open Mame...", and Mame launched. -I've restarted Launchbox -I've restarted the PC -I've tried running the game from Launchbox with Mame already running, same result Thank you again for helping me troubleshoot this. Still not certain what to try, other than reinstalling the OS. It would be very helpful if Launchbox had a debug output or log file!
  2. Here are the images requested, along with the Platforms screen as well.
  3. I will do that as soon as I'm able. Thank you very much for your help.
  4. @Lordmonkus Thanks for your reply. The emulator path is correctly configured. I double checked it now by browsing to the executable and selecting it, and by typing the path in manually. Same result. I can launch MAME by itself from Launchbox if I select "Open MAME..." from the right-click menu in the game list. Also, LB was able to download all the image and wiki data on the games. Since LB can see and access both the emulator and games, I thought the issue must be how it's launching the emu, or I don't have any special flags in the commandline options for the emulator; it uses default settings. I am running LB v10.1, and it's not easy for me to upgrade. Edit: I forgot the application was portable, so I tried reinstalling it in a different directory and reimporting the ROM set, and setting up the emulator again. It still did not work. Any other ideas? Thank you!
  5. Hello. I am now experiencing this issue on one of my machines. The description of my problem is word-for-word what the original poster described, except I'm running MAME 0.238. This is a MAME-only machine. ROM directories, emulators and platforms are correctly configured. Launchbox can see the games. The games run fine in MAME. MAME can be launched from Launchbox by right clicking a game in the menu and selecting "Open MAME". But trying to run a MAME game from Launchbox results in the screen going black for a moment, and then returning to the Launchbox UI. Is there no log for Launchbox? I could not find information on this. There were no files in the LB /logs directory. It also doesn't appear that MAME is crashing either. Thank you for any help.
  6. Hi, I'm trying to enable some custom themes for my BigBox install, and BigBox keeps insisting on trying to contact the launchbox servers. How do I manage themes without this? When I tried to set up the custom themes via Options/View submenu, nothing changed even though it correctly detected and displayed them as an option in the menu.
  7. Just to follow up here as well, the update: My issue was caused by my Windows 7 machine being offline. Win7 needs to auto-update its root certificate stores via the network before it can install more current software. I was unable to find an individual download that updated the root certs offline, but when online I was able to continue with the installation as normal, and everything is working as it should be. Thank you for your help.
  8. UPDATE: Thanks to @C-Beats for taking a look at the crash log and screenshots I sent. It turns out this is related to a failed .NET 4.8 installation, and Launchbox was reacting to missing components.
  9. Debug was not enabled, so I enabled it. Upon launch I saw a complete UI window for the first time, but the program still immediately crashed. I've PM'd you my log. EDIT: To answer these questions: "What version are you installing?" 10.11 "Has Launchbox ever worked on this install? No it has not. The "CefSharp.BroswerSubprocess " error was more infrequent, but I will send a screenshot when I see it next. I sent a screenshot of the "regular" crash dialog. Thank you!
  10. Hi, thank you for replying. I'm not able to connect the machine to the net at the moment. I'll see if that's possible asap. @C-Beats - I know, I input 10.11 and that was my result. :( @neil9000 - Does Launchbox install a copy of chromium? I'm not able to connect the machine to the net at the moment. I'll see if that's possible. In the meantime, I'll try to install a browser myself and see if it provides some information.
  11. Thank you for your reply. It causes slightly different behavior. Launchbox now crashes almost immediately, and the welcome screen doesn't appear. Maybe this is an issue with whatever operation begins after that stage.
  12. Hi, I'm trying to solve the crash error related to: "CefSharp.BroswerSubprocess has stopped working". I just installed Launchbox on an offline Win7 machine. The machine is up to date otherwise and has .NET4.8 installed. The Launchbox installation unpacks the files in the specified directory, and seems to complete successfully. Something that appears to be a blank Welcome window appears. The application hangs and the Windows error dialog prompts the user to close the application. About 50% of the time a second crash dialog will appear that states "CefSharp.BroswerSubprocess has stopped working". Some internet searches lead me to believe this is related to a browser rendering a web page. Does the Launchbox welcome window display online content? Being an offline machine, this PC only has a basic version of Internet Explorer bundled with it. Is it possible the machine needs a modern browser installed in order render this content? If my guesses are off the mark, are there any other ideas? Thank you in advance for any help and advice.
