    BannerBox

You will need to build your own game banners, and in some instances platform/system banners... the process is explained in the following video tutorial.
  2. Hello All, I’m having strange sound issue that seems to only be happening to the following Atari cores: 2600 (Stella), 800XL (Atari800), and 7800 (Pro System). I have been scouring multiple forums for weeks without any useful info, and have tried any and all RA settings regarding sound and video sync without any favorable results. Below are a few details regarding the issue: If I have Retroarch notifications turned on at game launch (eg) core re-map, controller info etc., I can see that the sound on some of the games will only start after the notifications being displayed by RA are complete and no longer on screen. if sound doesn’t start immediately at game launch, or after several seconds into the game, sound will usually start once a specific trigger is executed, for example flying over a fuel-up in "River Raid" (Atari 2600) will start all game sounds, but shooting a ship beforehand won’t trigger the game sound to start. Another example would be getting an artifact, flair, TNT, oxygen etc. on "Spelunker" (Atari 800XL), will trigger all game sounds to start, but walking, jumping or moving the elevator will not trigger game sound to start. One more example is "Choplifter" (Atari 7800) there is no game sound until rescuing a person, but sometimes sound will start itself several seconds into the game… As you can see, the problem is very sporadic and different on each title, and even when starting the same game right after exiting it, will have different results. Even stranger is some titles do not exhibit the issue at all, some have the issue some times, but not others… The issue happens when games are launched in: launcbox, BigBox, and directly through Retroarch. The issue happens when in full screen and while windowed. The issue doesn’t seem to be affecting any of my other 20 platforms, and I'm using a mix of RA cores and standalone emulators. I’ve tried several HDMI cables and HDMI ports on the TV without change. System is an Atari VCS 800, with 32GB ram, and a fresh windows 10 install on a 2TB internal M.2 ssd. All system drivers, RA cores and lunchbox are up to date, and everything else is working flawlessly. I remember all sounds working properly early on in my build, but I cant put my finger on when the problem started, possibly after adding shaders, and tweaking cores to work more efficiently with the shaders. These Atari core sound issues are driving me mad, hopefully someone has a few suggestions! Thanks all!
  3. I’ll give these options a shot. Thank you so much for the help, I appreciate you!!
  4. Hello all, I've already posted this question in the basic forum, but have received no help so for... so I'm hoping that someone here can shed some light on my problem. I really like the BannerBox theme, it's thoughtful, intuitive, beautiful looking... but I am having some issues with sound distortion and what I would assume is game slowdown. From what I can find, the combination of the BannerBox theme and Retroarch cores, seems to be the culprit. (details below) - When launching the same 5200 games directly through Retroarch alone, while using the same Atari800 core, the games run perfectly fine. - when using the same Atari800 core through Retroarch in Launchbox, the games also play perfectly fine. - I'm using game list, not wheel for the game library, nothing fancy, pretty basic setup. That said, when launching the same games with the Atari800 core through Retroarch, in the Bigbox default theme, there are also no problems... so I assume it's an issue with the custom theme BannerBox, which is unfortunate, because I love everything about the BannerBox theme! Hoping someone can lend some help with this. System being used: (not at all a high-end system by any means, but it's the only PC I own, purchased exclusively for this project (i'm a mac guy due to the nature of my work...) regardless, this PC has done just fine with everything on this build until now... That said, I'm just using this PC to put together the windows retro emulator build that will be going into my more capable Atari VCS 800, via M.2 drive) Month old HP Laptop: AMD Athlon Silver 3050U w/ Radeon Graphics (2.30 GHz) 4.00 GB RAM Windows 10, 64bit OS, Launchbox/Bigbox, emulators, themes, cores etc. are current an up to date. ~ Many thanks in advance to anyone here who might have some ideas or a solution!
  5. Hello all, I'm having some issues with sound distortion and what I would assume is game slowdown. The custom BannerBox theme and Retroarch cores, appears to be the culprit. The platform that has the most apparent negative affects, is Atari 5200, while using the Atari800 core with Retroarch, in Bigbox (BannerBox Theme) I'm using game list, not wheel, and no background video. When launching the same 5200 games directly through Retroarch alone, they run perfectly fine, and when using the same Atari800 core through Retroarch in Launchbox, they also play perfectly fine... That said, when launching the same games with the Atari800 core through Retroarch, in the Bigbox default theme, there is also no problems, so I assume it's an issue with the custom theme BannerBox, which is unfortunate, because I love everything about the BannerBox theme... 6. Hello all, I'm struggling with Kat5200... Looking for suggestions on how to exit out of Kat5200 using a controller in BigBox. In Launchbox I'm only able to exit a Kat5200 game by hitting ESC on the keyboard (which only exits the game to the kat5200 emulator GUI) then I have to use a mouse in the kat5200 GUI to exit the emulator using the dropdown exit button. I haven't figured out a way to set a hotkey in Kat5200, and I do have the "Exit AutoHotkey script" section of "edit emulator" in Launchbox, but as mentioned above, it takes ESC + mousing to "Exit" in the kat5200 GUI to actually exit the emulator completely. This 2 step process makes it impossible to use the key mapping function to exit in BigBox. Anyone else run into this, and what was your solution? After scouring the forums for days, I can't seem to find the issue mentioned anywhere... FYI: I would rather streamline things and just use the Atari800 core in Retroarch to run my 5200 library, but I'm having issues with serious gameplay slow down, and sound distortion (in BigBox only) That said, Atari 5200 games run perfectly fine in both Launchbox, and directly out of Retroarch when using the Atari800 core... hence the reason for Kat5200 which runs very well, and to me actually looks better on screen, but the exit issue is driving me mad. Thanks in advance!
  7. Thank you, that did the trick!! You know, only enough, I actually tried doing that already, after remembering seeing something about this in another post, regarding older MAME executables... the odd thing is, on that 1st attempt, for whatever reason, I wasn't able to edit that field in the editor... but just tried again after your recommendation, and a fresh startup of LB, and it worked a charm! Cheers and thanks again for the quick and helpful response! m
  8. Hello all, I'm fairly new to Launchbox, but have been using MAME since 2000. I'm not at all an expert with MAME, but understand the basics. I have a complete 0.78 (2013) romset and am using the corresponding MAME 0.78 executable. I am using MAME as the emulator in LB. To be clear, the 0.78 romset that I am using in LB, launches correctly outside of LB when using the same 0.78 MAME executable, but when attempting to launch a MAME rom within LB, nothing happens... I followed along with the LB tutorial for the MAME install, and it appears that everything is pointing to the correct paths, though I'm not sure I'm checking all the correct places. I am also using an older romset and MAME executable than used the tutorial, though this shouldn't be an issue as everything is confirmed to work properly outside of LB... That said, all rooms and artwork for the 0.78 romset have uploaded to LB without issue, and I can see the games within the LB frontend. Details: - Following along with the MAME/LB tutorial: I have placed the MAME folder within the root of the LB folder, (not in the "Emulators" folder like the rest of the emulators that I've installed in LB) - The MAME rom files have been placed within the "roms" folder, that is in the root of the "MAME" folder, that is in the root of the LB folder. - Regarding the LB setup for MAME, it's my understanding that I have pointed to the "MAME" executable (within the above mentioned "MAME" folder) and have pointed to the "roms" folder within the above mentioned "MAME" folder. - As stated earlier, when I attempt to execute a game in LB, nothing happens. I don't even get a brief black screen that would be expected when a rom fails to load... - When I right click on a game title within LB, and click "open MAME" I get a brief flash of the usual black MAME window, but it's very fast, and nothing happens beyond that... I hope that I have described the details of my issue sufficiently, please let me know if you need any other specifics. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all! .
