  1. Is there any progress/update on this? I've just purchased the full Android license and starting to import my platforms and ROMs. It's a pain having to re-scan and duplicate all my videos. I'm going to run out of disk space.
  2. Are there any plans to bring RetroAchievements to the Android app?
  3. Is there a way to select the video file location for platforms? I have all my ROM videos already scraped and on my SD card in a videos subfolder for each platform. The filenames are the same as the ROM names so should be LaunchBox compatible. I have successfully imported the platform games from the SD card, so external access isn't a problem - and it's an Odin device so Android 10 (no filesystem permission issues). I don't want to scrape all the videos again.
  4. I raised a feature request. If anyone else likes the sound of it, please vote on the issues/ features list below: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/6986/android-attract-mode
  5. Is there any update to this? Is Bigbox for Android on the roadmap?
  6. I will post this as a new feature request but thought I'd check first to see whether I've missed something: I need to get all my Batocera ROMs and media into LaunchBox Windows. Therein lies a problem. I have a lot of platforms, ROMs and curated images and videos which I've spent a long time collating and scraping for Batocera. I've imported the ROMs for the first platform (Atari 2600). The ROMs import fine but I'm struggling to bring in the images and videos that I scraped in Batocera. The structure is as follows: ROMs: ./roms/[platform]/[romfile] Images (box front): ./roms/[platform]/images/[romfile]-thumb.png Images (screenshot): ./roms/[platform]/images/[romfile]-image.png Images (banner): ./roms/[platform]/images/[romfile]-marquee.png Video: ./roms/[platform]/videos/[romfile].mp4 I think what I need is some new Batocera import facility where you can bulk import from a platform (or ideally multiple platforms). The import tool would ask where the ROM files are located and also the images and video naming structure. So in my example above, you could say the ROM files are in xxx folder and the box front image is in xxx sub folder with a filename of [romfile]-thumb.png. This would be a great feature for anyone migrating from another front-end to LaunchBox....or am I in a minority of people who have a large collection of ROMs and media which has been curated for another front-end? I checked on the LaunchBox Discord group just now to see if anyone knows a way I can do this without having to reconvert all the files, but thought I'd check here too as we may have different people with different knowledge.
  7. Hi all! Does anyone know if it's possible to set a random "video and play" option in a LaunchBox theme? This is something I really like in ArkOS/EmulationStation on Linux. I think it's called Attract Mode. You press a button on your controller and it will play the ROM videos in full screen for random games across ALL platforms. When you see something you like, you press a button and that game starts up. It's a great feature when you have a large ROM collection. If it's not available, could I suggest it for future development?
  8. I've just taken delivery of my Ayn Odin and have installed LaunchBox. I have a paid Emumovies licence which I've been using with LaunchBox for Windows to download game media. Every time I enter my Emumovies login and password into LaunchBox on the Odin, the app freezes at the point of selecting to test the connection to Emumovies. Is this a bug with the Android version?
  9. Amazing! All sorted now. Thanks so much. This stuff is so powerful. I really need to get into the code a bit more when time permits.
  10. I love this! Just a couple of issues which I'm sure are easily fixable (for my setup): I don't get the game image on the main panel behind the game title logo and info. have I disabled something in my settings? Is it possible to default the view for the game to the one you get when clicking the "image" logo; to show the video and images instead of the game details?
  11. I appreciate they are separately developed products but I can't think of any other software I've bought which requires paying for twice on different platforms. e.g. anti-virus utilities, VPNs etc
  12. I know we're on a LaunchBox forum but I'm thinking that Dig maybe a good option for the Odin. It seems that LaunchBox requires an extra licence fee for Android(!) and I'm not sure the Android version is as mature as the PC version. ETA Prime has done a nice setup video for Dig. My only reservation is that Dig doesn't appear to be in active development currently.
  13. I should add that the YouTube videos I've seen so far are using the individual emulator apps directly. E.g RetroArch, Mupen64, Citra. I much prefer a collection approach like LaunchBox as the other portable players use (Powkiddy etc).
  14. I'm considering buying the new Odin for portable emulation gaming. Does anyone have any experience of using LaunchBox as an Android front end? I realise the Android version is somewhat work in progress but this would be ideal as I could port my PC setup including ROMs across into the Odin. If not LaunchBox, would there be a recommended alternative? Finally, has anyone got the Odin and care to share experiences? Thanks!
  15. Interesting. I've just been looking at the Max 2! I think this will suit my needs.. Not bothered too much about higher end emulation for now. Would just be nice to get a portable I can tinker with (LaunchBox?) and play lower end emulation like SNES, Amiga(?), Mame. The Odin will be the perfect all rounder but it's not being shipped yet. I'd like a machine for max £100 for now until I splash out on something more long term at a later date.
