  1. Make sure you're logged in under your EmuMovies account. It did the same to me whenever I would try to download videos it would say "populating downloads" then crash on me. It turned out I wasn't signed in, even though I thought I was? But yeah, just go to the "Options" menu and put in your EmuMovies User ID and your EmuMovies Password again then test the credentials and if it's successful it should work when you try to download movies.
  2. Are you launching RetroArch from Launchbox? You have to set the default emulator to RetroArch under the system you want to play on. I got screenshots to correlate with the steps. Step 1: Go to your console of choice Step 2: Under your games list in the upper right hand corner, you'll see the three dots, tap that then go down to Emulator Settings Step 3: Set the Default Emulator to RetroArch and the Default Core to whatever core you've downloaded within RetroArch Step 4: Go back to your games list and run a game Step 5: Quit RetroArch with your assigned hotkey(mine is the Xbox Button and I have "Confirm Quit" turned on which is why it asks me to press it again in order to exit). If everything is done right when you exit it should take you right back to Launchbox
  3. I guess it depends on your budget. I have a Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10.1 inch and it was $100, it's capable of playing games from the NES all the way up to Dreamcast at full speed, it'll play most PSP games at playable speeds, but the ones that are demanding will give it trouble(MGS Peace Walker, Motor Storm Arctic Edge, etc.)
  4. Maybe it's something when it comes to combo buttons. You could just have select be the exit button but with "confirm exit" on you would have to hit select twice in order to exit anyways. There's not many games that require you to constantly hit the select button by itself so it should be OK. I don't know what's going on with Nvidia firmware and RetroArch in regards to the combo buttons but I guess this is a slight solution to the problem.
  5. Now that's interesting! When you go to the "input settings" Try setting the "Quit controller combo" to "None" and turn on "Confirm Quit" and go down to where you see "Quit RetroArch" and set a button to it. After you've done that try quitting RetroArch from that menu using the button you've assigned to quit RetroArch. Because if it doesn't let you quit RetroArch from within the menu then there's a bigger issue going on probably within Nvidia Shields firmware, I just tested this on my Lenovo XiaoXin Tab and it works great.
  6. 32 views and 0 replies, man come on guys, lol. Well anyway, yes it's possible, the first thing you need to do is set up RetroArch as your default emulator within LaunchBox on whatever console you're trying to use RetroArch with(SNES, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, etc) and choose your desired core. If you have everything set up right, when you launch the game from LaunchBox it should run within RetroArch and if you have your hotkeys set up for a certain button to quit then it should take you back to LaunchBox when you hit. For me personally I have the "Confirm Quit" option enabled, and have it set up with my Xbox controller where the Xbox button quits out of it. So I'll have to hit the Xbox button twice in order to exit. But it takes me back to LaunchBox every time.
  7. It's some new storage permissions google put in place with the new android firmware (10 or 11 and up). The developers of those emulators would need to update their storage permission within those apps to allow front ends like LB to bypass it. As it stands now there's nothing LB can do. My recommendation to you would be to use a different emulator, RetroArch is pretty good.
  8. No problem and I'm glad I could help. Whatever we could do to take some pressure off of you guys.
  9. No, the language I'm using is English. It's strange because it only happens with beta-8, I downgraded to beta-7 and tried to download clear logos and it worked just fine, the clear logog folder never showed up.
  10. After doing some further testing on I notice that whenever I try to download clear wheel logo images the image wouldn't show up on the LB game list screen. But now I understand the reason for this, when I open up the LB folder manually, I see a folder called "clear logo" but I also see another one called "clear logog" so all of the clear logo images that LB downloaded would all go to the "clear logog" folder instead of the "clear logo" one(which is why I couldn't see the images). So after manually moving the images from "clear logog" to "clear logo" it works now. For some reason when downloading a clear image wheel logo it creates another folder and treats it as the primary.
  11. I am having an issue specifically with the DS, I haven't tested this on other platforms so I don't know if they are affected. But I just tried using a DS core using RA and wanted to make it my default emulator because originally I was using Drastic and recently added a game to the list. But whenever I would go back to LB and load up DS it would always open Drastic and the new game I added wouldn't even show up anymore on my list of games. Even when I uninstalled Drastic it would still just direct me to the google play store to install it because it's acting like Drastic is still my default emulator which I no longer want it to be, so I thought maybe if I just delete the DS platform and rescrape the games it would help. But it's not even letting me delete the DS platform, all of the prompts to delete shows up but when LB loads back up, the DS is still there and when I go to it all of the games are there (except for the new one I tried adding), the only things that are missing are the wheel logo and the front box image, the videos are still there. Could this be a glitch or something?
  12. What's not scraping? The videos, front box image, wheel logo, etc? Because sometimes when you download all missing media and you have all of the options selected it could overlook and miss some things and not necessarily because of the name. You would need to narrow it down by deselecting everything and only selecting 1 option from the list. You'll have a higher chance of it actually finding what's missing than if you had all of the options checked.
  13. Thank you so much for all of hard work, we all really appreciate it! Keep up the good work, I've tried different front ends but LaunchBox will always be my go to. The UI is so straightforward and just makes it simple to navigate. At the same time you add subtle details that make it on par with the competition, like the addition of "Wheel with 2 column details" view option was definitely necessary. Because just a few days before you released the beta update I was wondering if it was a way for something like that to be implemented and you delivered. Thank you!
  14. There's another way to add videos without having to pay. Although the process might take longer and you'll need a PC. But you'll need to download a program called Skraper. It'll scrape all of your roms and download the media associated with it. In this case you're only looking for videos so you can edit the settings to where it only scrapes videos, now depending on how many roms you have it could take a couple of hours. After it's finished when you open your rom destination you should see an"media" folder, when you open it you should see sub folders of the media it downloaded. Now in the LB folder you need to make a folder called "videos". In this videos folder you need to make sub folders of all of the systems you have and now it's just a matter of dragging and dropping your videos into the appropriate folders. Open up LB and go to your console you want add videos too, and tap on "Download All Missing Media", now make sure to uncheck all of the options and hit Proceed with Downloads. Now when you go back to your console the video associated with the game should show up and start playing in the background and that's it.
  15. I found a solution guys, shout out goes to @theekinghumpy for providing this info. You have to activate developer mode on your device, after you do that under developer options turn on "Don't keep activities". That did the trick and worked 99% of the time but there was one instance where I started the game and the music still slipped through so under "Background process limit" I just set it to No background processes and it works flawlessly. I just want to warn you that by doing this it will force close out of LB so when you go back to LB from the emulator it'll go back to LB's home screen. That's the best solution we have for now
  16. Do you have a paid account? I think it only works if you have a paid account
  17. In the future, if you have any problems with launching a certain emulator just download apk analyzer from the google play store. It uses the information from apps that's directly installed on your device and gives you the correct information on them. Like when it comes to emulators, it gives the package name and activity name so you can always use it when adding a custom emulator in LB
  18. That post might be a month old but I thank you! I did just that it worked, I was looking everywhere for a solution to that problem, I even opened up a thread about it. Thanks!
  19. The only way I know is going to options then setting one of the filters to "Play Mode". When you go back to the main UI it will have a Cooperative and a Multiplayer tab on there and those games that offer that will be associated with that category. But as far as setting it by the number of players I really don't know.
  20. So I'm on the android version of LaunchBox(I'm on android version 11) and I imported my own video snaps into the videos folder of LaunchBox. When I go to the game title the video snap plays in the background like normal but for some reason the video snap audio continues to play after I launch into the game, so both the in game and video snap audio are being played at the same time. I tried using the "Use Hardware Decoding for VLC Video Playback" option and it still didn't work. Does anyone know a solution for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  21. I believe beta 4(1.0} is the latest version, just go to the options menu and turn on "Update to beta releases" and "Check for updates at Start up" then close out of LaunchBox and reopen it and it'll update to the latest release. Sorry, I don't have a shield tv so I can't help with that Same as above comment
  22. Man, that's messed up. I would have thought that the devs of these emulators would be trying to work together with the community to produce a better overall user experience for everyone. I guess there are some devs that's just out there for themselves and it's really twisted to think about it. The problem is that PCSX2 isn't on android, I wish the team behind PCSX2 made an android version just like Dolphin did so that way we wouldn't have to worry about this problem. Dolphin doesn't have a problem with supporting front ends but for some reason Tahlreth does.
  23. I find front ends to be incredibly convenient myself and Aethersx2 is the only one I can't properly launch from launchbox (the others I can just use retroarch I guess) and it sucks that Tahlreth doesn't want to support front ends. But if it was from a developer stand point are there downsides to having emulators run through front ends? I'm still new to all of this and would like to think this decision isn't about arrogance and selfishness
  24. Hey is it possible to have support for the Nes.emu and MD.emu emulators? Whenever I try to launch a game using those emulators it takes me to the emulator main screen with a red message at the bottom saying "permission denied".
