Rebooted PC & Launchbox Lost All Content
Starwind Amada replied to Starwind Amada's topic in Troubleshooting
I deleted the F drive one but now the C drive one won't open. I click on it and nothing happens. Run as admin has the same result. No message about another instance or anything. -
Rebooted PC & Launchbox Lost All Content

F:\LaunchBox\Core\LaunchBox.exe But there's also C:\Users\tiger\LaunchBox And no, I left the games where they were, in various locations among my drives. -
Rebooted PC & Launchbox Lost All Content

Yes -
I had to reboot my PC and I opened Launchbox and EVERYTHING is now gone. Every imported game is gone. I had over 10,000 games listed and now I have to import everything all over again and after that edit multiple file names. This process takes hours and for absolutely no reason everything is now gone. I even rolled back from the disaster that is 14.0 and it made no difference. All because I rebooted my PC. Also, it's on the C drive with a ton of non-game files and yet it lost everything.

I was able to reinstall it but it won't open. I double click on it and nothing happens. I tried "Run as Admin" but had the same result. No error message. And I disabled my antivirus but that didn't make a difference. Also it was on the C drive before but now it's on an external one.

Emulator Not Connecting to Library After Configuring It
Starwind Amada replied to Starwind Amada's topic in Troubleshooting
Now it's happening with PCSX2 except this time in Associated Platforms it says "Sony PlayStation 2" exactly like it does in the platform list on the left. I right click on a game and the emulator doesn't appear in the menu and double-clicking on the game gives me a message about the path to the emulator not being found. -
Multiple restarts and the problem persists. This is unacceptable. I can't reboot my computer every time Launchbox decides to stop working (which is frequent). This update is garbage and I'm sure the next one will be worse.

Emulator Not Connecting to Library After Configuring It
Starwind Amada replied to Starwind Amada's topic in Troubleshooting
That was it. I had changed it from "Super Nintendo Entertainment System" to "Nintendo SNES" to keep it with the other Nintendo platforms alphabetically (I wanted it under N instead of S). I went into Associated Platforms and changed it to that new name and now the ROMs connect to the emulator. Thanks. -
I added SNES9X to my list of emulators and the only associated platform is the SNES. For some reason, when I click on a game, it doesn't see the emulator. If I right click on a game, the emulator doesn't appear in the menu. Two other emulators do work normally (for other platforms). I have checked and SNES9X is indeed the only emulator connected to SNES but Launchbox won't actually connect it to the ROMs.

It happened again. I restarted my PC and Launchbox was working just fine. Then suddenly, right-clicking wouldn't bring up the menu. Clicking on games and other platforms didn't work. Windows starting flashing on the screen for a millisecond before closing. I closed Launchbox and guess what? Now it won't open again for the tenth time in 48 hours and tells me there's another instance running. I don't believe this. I have done everything I can to fix this problem and just when I thought I had figured it out, it happened again. What the hell is wrong? Unbroken Software. Yeah, sure. More like Completely Broken Software. And of course, no response from the devs I paid money to for a license for software that no longer works.
-
How do I roll back? I searched for 13.27 and get articles about it but no download links.
-
Nice. NOw I can't delete it because Windows says a file is being used. So now, I can't open Launchbox because it thinks it's already running, I can't install it on another drive because the installer is missing files and I can't delete it because it makes Windows think a file it uses is open. This is unacceptable.
-
I actually went and deleted Launchbox completely and guess what? Still can't install those files. SO now anyone who tries to install this garbage won't be able to because the required files aren't available. What a bunch of BS. It was good for a while but then they screwed it up and I'm sure they'll just move on to the next version with the same problems
-
It skips the file, but then the next file also can't be found. They're all .dll files. And don't ask for screenshots for each one, as there are too many.
-
Didn't work. During installing it told me that bunch of dll files could not be found. I could skip them, but it said that wasn't recommended and then would just give the same message about the next file anyway. So even the installer is broken. And because I closed Launchbox to do this, guess what? It won't open again..... again. Unbroken Software? More like Completely Broken Software! This is total BS. I paid for a license for software that breaks whenever they make a useless update.

Okay I'm gonna try it
-
So delete it and reinstall it? You're positive it wont remove anything? Because you can see there are a LOT of consoles in my library.
-
Launchbox will no longer connect to the database. I get these messages. Do I need to reinstall Launchbox? I haven't made any changes so I don't know why this is happening. Will reinstalling wipe all my libraries?
-
It just happened again. Launchbox is on a standard drive (the C drive) and not a cloud drive or Documents folder or anything. No processes appear Task Manager. The software locked up during use and now won't reopen and the help article is no help at all. I'm not rebooting the computer because that process takes over an hour. This should not be happening and I'm fed up with this.
-
Free. Not worth it then. I can see manuals on Archive.org for free. I just wanted to do it in Launchbox. Hell, I could probably download and add them myself, they just won't have the page-turning animations.

Yes. I now just tried 265 Dreamcast games. Same thing. And again, I did make an account with EM
-
No. It had all kinds of other stuff but no manuals. I've looked multiple times. I saw fanart, marquees, magazine ads, boxart, screenshots.... no manuals
-
I just selected 298 N64 games at once. No manuals. That can't be right.
