LB Keeps Downloading Non-Game Files After I Delete Them
Starwind Amada replied to Starwind Amada's topic in Troubleshooting
Tried to disable it and I got the "not enough space" message and it crashed. Stuck on "loading interface" again and I have to reboot. -
My C and E drives is pretty full

What does this mean? In the Temp folder are a bunch of empty subfolders. What happens if I delete them? I can no longer download images for each game. There is not enough space on the disk. : 'E:\LaunchBox\Metadata\Temp\80713302-bd43-4dab-9d94-0930d6f7a93e'. Brand new PC (not because of this). Two days later it crashed for on reason and is once again stuck on "loading interface." -
Stuck On "Loading Interface" AGAIN. This Is Unacceptable
Starwind Amada replied to Starwind Amada's topic in Troubleshooting
It started working again but then for no reason, it lagged while I tried to delete a single game, and then crashed AGAIN. And of course, it thinks it's already open despite no running processes or installations on other drives. This is ridiculous. Your software is broken. It constantly crashes and refuses to reopen. I can't keep rebooting my PC every few hours when this randomly happens. And don't ask me for some crash log or whatever because the folder is empty. Yeah, that's great. You want a crash log yet your software doesn't provide it. Don't bother releasing a new version. It will still be broken. It probably will hack your system and delete all your ROMs. Just fix your broken software. How can you call yourselves Unbroken Software when your product constantly malfunctions? -

Launchbox version 14.0.1 System Specs: Device Name DESKTOP-58TN53R Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core Processor 3.90 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB Storage 932 GB SSD Samsung SSD 870 EVO 1TB, 932 GB HDD ST1000DM003-1SB102, 932 GB HDD WDC WD10EZEX-08WN4A0, 238 GB SSD Lexar SSD Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB) Device ID C9B3F1CE-3113-405D-9A70-6521554956A5 Product ID 00326-10000-00000-AA381 System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display I was using the app like normal. Just scrolling through my collection. Theme - default Input - keyboard/mouse No plugins installed. I have no idea what a crash log is or how to find it. I can't reopen Launchbox for the 20th time in a month. -
Launchbox is broken AGAIN. It was working fine for the past week. Then, for absolutely no reason, it gave me some error message and crashed before I could read it. Now, it won't reopen. It gets stuck on "Loading Interface" I found out that you should delete the Plugins folder in case any are outdated. That folder was empty. The other tips on Google are all techno BS that will probably screw up my PC. This is with version 14.0.1. What does this keep happening? One minute it's fine and then suddenly everything breaks. Unbroken Software makes nothing but broken software. Too bad every other frontend is trash. They stopped caring with version 14.0. I guarantee the next version will fix nothing.

I don't know where I got it but my Dreamcast collection doesn't show images in Launchbox because all the file names are Sonic Adventure V1.002 or whatever so the software doesn't recognize the title. It's gonna be a pain to go through the entire library editing the titles. Is there a complete collection without any extra BS in the titles? I selected "Version" in the bulk edit thing but what do I put for "Value"

Rebooted PC & Launchbox Lost All Content
Starwind Amada replied to Starwind Amada's topic in Troubleshooting
I had to install a Windows update and the reboot is now allowing Launchbox to work. I have to re-import everything but after this debacle I'm just glad it works. If it happens again I guess I'll have to just do another reboot. I just hope I don't have to re-import every time because Windows updates are frequent and if I ignore them my computer starts acting up until I reboot it. -

It just says Name/Path with Launchbox under Name twice. No path. I'm done. Nothing will fix this. -

Didn't work. Now it won't even give me the message about another instance. Of course not. This is a lost cause. -

What if I get a second PC and only have Launchbox on there? Maybe a mid-range gaming laptop and nothing else goes on it. Because this is ridiculous that nothing I've done works. -

Yes, 14.0. I checked the startup apps and Launchbox was either not listed or it was disabled. So either way that wasn't the problem. The problem I think is that it turns out Launchbox still is on the C drive but I can't delete it because it says the file is open. If it was open I would be using it and not having this problem in the first place. Once again, it's not in Task Manager and like I said, I'd be using it if it were open. Also, I tried Microsoft Powertoys to try to delete the folder but when I selected it and clicked "Unlock with File Locksmith" (a feature in PowerToys) it said NO RESULTS. This is a bunch of BS -

The install wizard doesn't come up. Just gives me the message about another instance. The installation went through just fine but the software won't open. -

I deleted Launchbox from the C drive. Complete deletion. Now it's installed on the F drive and only the F drive. Yet it still refuses to open because it thinks Launchbox is already running. It is not. If it was I wouldn't be trying to install it. There are no running processes in Task Manager yet the software thinks there are. It has no idea what's going on and refuses to properly function. I have done everything I can to mitigate this problem and the software simply is incapable of running. -

Now I'm trying to delete all instances of LB and it keeps telling me a file is in use. Task Manager has no LB-related files in use. -

No. I get the little blue rotating circle for a few seconds and that's it. Tried that. Still doesn't work. -

I deleted the F drive one but now the C drive one won't open. I click on it and nothing happens. Run as admin has the same result. No message about another instance or anything. -

F:\LaunchBox\Core\LaunchBox.exe But there's also C:\Users\tiger\LaunchBox And no, I left the games where they were, in various locations among my drives. -

Yes -
I had to reboot my PC and I opened Launchbox and EVERYTHING is now gone. Every imported game is gone. I had over 10,000 games listed and now I have to import everything all over again and after that edit multiple file names. This process takes hours and for absolutely no reason everything is now gone. I even rolled back from the disaster that is 14.0 and it made no difference. All because I rebooted my PC. Also, it's on the C drive with a ton of non-game files and yet it lost everything.
