I tested the first version a few years ago (I was the patron) and the work was already phenomenal
but on this final version I can't wait for the result I saw that you can send the link in pm I'm interested!
a big thank you for your involvement and your work!
There are few reviews, can anyone give feedback on this version?
No worries, I'll send you a link in PM! This version is the most recent.
The post in the forum still exists, I'm just waiting for a signal from the team to reupload because there were small space issues on the servers which made the upload impossible or corrupted in the end
, which also explains the few reviews. Thank you 🤘

I would like to create the largest game library, collect as many games, platforms as possible
those known, less known, rare, etc.Hmm interesting but risky (you never know how long it will work) and as you say no internet and that's why I would rather spend this monthly money on my own drives, NAS
The priority is to save up for bigger drives e.g. 2x 20TB + the same amount for backup later NAS and there will be peace, you have to save up some money but there will be peace.
Uuuu It's very interesting what you say with these links, it could work, only the question is how it will work hmm but the idea is not bad.💪
Yes, I tested it, and it already works very well! It runs on RGSX, a program that lets you download games directly from the Batocera interface.
Tested on PC, Batocera handheld console /
Still a lot of bugs to resolve.
Actually, if you want, it's a search engine (free) that simply retrieves links. It's not the kind of thing I'd use (I'm already drowning in unfinished games ✨😂), but adapting it would be really huge and practical!Yes, I know, the more it goes, the less effort we make to play lol

The issue here is it's 2 separate platforms. So it's looking in 2 separate folders.
My cab has a 22" 1680x1050 monitor.
TBH, I don't really fire up Big Box that often. And when I do, it goes to the 65" TV. But I don't really "look at it" because I already know what game I'm going to play. I just find the game, press "X" on the controller and it launches.
While chatting with friends a few days ago, we all realized that we almost never launch our launchbox when it comes to playing a single-player game. And it's even more true when you're a seasoned player, since we're going to try to scrape together resources and instinctively close all the resource-hungry programs to gain FPS and other things. In short, we'll stick to the essentials: just click on the icon! lol For us, it's ultimately become more of a showcase for completion and memories, or a way to introduce games to my friends or my kids in a cool way.
@KRI$85For your space problem, Exxodus offers a rather original solution since it offers an online storage service! I haven't tested it yet, but it looks pretty neat!
Check out their Patreon. Well, what bothers me is that the day you lose internet...But it could be an idea why not for part of your configuration (like full set gbc etc)! Otherwise you can also store on classic cloud in case of hardship you already have everything available practical alsohttps://www.patreon.com/c/Exodus_cl/home
Even further back in the Batocera community,This week there's a guy who's set up a direct download platform using existing links! It's incredibly well-designed, and he's taking no risks since he's not the one hosting it (it's a search engine that retrieves the links and lets you download without leaving your couch)
. I'm currently seeing if I can develop something along these lines for Launchbox; it must be completely feasible if he did it!

Hey there, Saiyans!
After months locked in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, I’m proud to tease my new project:
DRAGON BALL MANIA – a cross-media interface 100% dedicated to the Dragon Ball universe, made with love ❤️ (and maybe a few senzu beans dipped in coffee to keep me going).
This project is going to be pretty insane, I think!🔥 WHAT IS DRAGON BALL MANIA?
Simple: imagine one single place where you can access EVERYTHING Dragon Ball.📀 Anime & Movies
🎮 Video games (all consoles included)
📚 Manga, chapters, artbooks
🔍 A full encyclopedia on characters, locations, arcs…
🧠 Immersive VR experiences in the DBZ worldVisit Kame House, Planet Namek…
Even the most iconic fan-made animated projects!🌍 A French-language ultimate hub for fans, with smooth navigation, animated videos, and an interface as powerful as Vegeta’s Final Flash.
⚡ WHY?
Because we deserve better than juggling 10 sites and 15 apps just to enjoy Dragon Ball content.
Because I was this close to going full Majin from switching media every five minutes.
And because Dragon Ball deserves to be celebrated in a format worthy of its legendary status.Let’s be honest: we’ve all dreamed of a place like this since the first time we saw Goku turn Super Saiyan.
👉 Important: No official media (no full episodes, films, or scanned manga pages).
Dragon Ball Mania contains no licensed files.
It’s a visual, informative, interactive tribute – a passion project made with deep respect for the rights holders. 🙏Runs on the LaunchBox frontend (Windows only), so you’ll need an official license to launch the interface in “you’re-about-to-get-your-eyes-blown-away” mode.
(I’m not affiliated with them.)You can add your own media and file paths using the provided slots.
Of course, it’s up to you to ensure you have the rights and original copies. (You’re grown-ups, right? 🙂)
How to support this project?
There’s no official license involved.
It’s funded entirely by my amazing existing supporters.
It runs on passion, time, and the sweat of a hardcore fan who wants to do what Toei, Bandai, and Crunchyroll never did:➡️ Centralize everything
➡️ Translate it cleanly
➡️ Make it all accessible in a next-level fan experience💾 Hosting files and updates
🎞 Creating new interfaces, ambient videos, transitions, menus, and exclusive content
🧠 Designing the ultimate hub for the Dragon Ball universe🐉 In short:
You can be a Dragon Ball spectator…
Or you can become a co-creator of its greatest digital sanctuary – and get early access 6 months before public release from the front row (only €2):
👉 https://www.patreon.com/c/padcinematic_prodThe project will be released publicly 6 months after launch.
"This ain’t my first rodeo, but it’s the first time I’m diving into a universe this massive and cross-media — and trust me, I know it inside-out."

I really wish someone would release a huge download of just the folder structure from their Rocketlauncher media folder as one huge download (internet archive?) that you could unzip and it would put all those assets, controller images, manuals, etc., etc., into the folders correctly. Only thing I would change for my personal taste is just to keep all the fonts more or less the default fonts, and no graphics like the mario next to the menu selection text. Other than that, all the media there to look at is phenomenal. It just really needs to be in one zip file on internet archive or something, so we can all benefit from the correct folder contents and structure already being set.
Also, for some reason my RL will not show me a controller menu item with a controller image in there. Even though i've turned on that option to show that menu in RLUI. weird.
Why don't you go and look at Arcade Punk?
They offer a lot of things, and Coin Ops and the Retrofe team have very square structures on Rocket Launcher for example,
and their builds are known for being fine-tuned to the millimeter.

Well, there's a huge point for me! lol I can't fathom leaving Rocketlauncher because of the 2 or 3 features that it just does phenomenally over launchbox. It's been years and years, and while we've gone strides in LB, it just isn't there yet. So I'd love the entire folder strucure of all that type of media to put in my rocketlauncher. I've only ever just done the simple fades. Never really delved into the true robustness of all the other media that can be there. But disseminating it from all the various sources, and trying to manually get it all in there is a daunting task. Surely someone has a personal setup that has most of the media for most of the systems like in that video you linked to, all ready to go. I mean, just right click on the media folder and zip it up ya know lol.
Large downloads won't be happening right away! It's complicated and it's a bit buggy... blocked at 4g9 maximum if you exceed your file will be corrupted,
the fault of the servers running out of space.
I think they'll find a solution quickly but it's annoying : /

How political of you. Anyway, Pauses and shutdown screens will be done later. I do wish to add more menus than just save states and manual viewings, if that's even possible. Some of the stuff in your video is visually appealing, but functionally falls short, I would want less video movement in the background of a menu system, it's too distracting. I would prefer more of an interactive menu system, the metroid pause menu is fine, but like i said, I would want some other menus besides just save states and a manual menu. The animation in the background is fine.
Yes i I Chose Original Content Over Standard Metadata in my collections, every view is designed like a standalone scene.
Instead of filling the interface with standard metadata (like release date, developer, or genre), I made a deliberate choice to focus on original content:
= a world map for Zelda,
=character lore and portraits for Mortal Kombat,
= or even narrative and visual elements that actually tell a story. This isn’t a gap — it’s intentional.
Most of my collections use nearly every visual slot available (sometimes 12 views or more), and I’d rather have each transition feel like a moment of atmosphere, a visual breath, than one more block of information.
Even during those 10-second transitions or loading times, I want to keep the immersion unbroken , no extra "overlay" to ruin the mood. It’s a different way to share passion , closer to cinema or an art exhibit than to a tech sheet.
When every space is occupied, thought-out, and balanced, adding an extra layer of metadata just to fill in can hurt readability — or even break the emotional flow.
It’s like throwing a voice-over on top of a powerful moment of silence: you don’t need it, because the scene already says it all.But hey — that’s just how I see it!
What you’re doing totally makes sense and fits your own creative direction.
No criticism here ^^ just different moods, different vibes. And that’s what makes this scene so rich. -
16 hours ago, Shredder_guitar said:
Haha yep, you really went all-in on the metadata — I’m guessing it was for testing, right?
For me, it’s maybe just a tiny bit too much — kinda gives off CNN news vibes 😄 (don’t take it the wrong way!).
But honestly, it totally fits the style of RocketLauncher fades and that classic frontend DNA, so it stays coherent.
Just don’t hesitate with the CTC — it gets updated regularly, and you’ll pick it up fast.
Look at everything you’ve done in just one day... and hey, you’ve still got pauses, shutdowns — use them!
For big collections, I always use all three. Try it out and see as far as you can go -

I never talk about it to avoid being seen as a carpet merchant but we must have on my patreon the biggest collection of animated marquee on the net (that's for sure) it's been 4 years that my friend salt traders only shares in a few specific places to protect his work! For the availability it's symbolic on the first row at 2 usd: we left you the most accessible things and open to everyone. Salt traders is present here too but under another pseudonym maybe one day he will upload here too! certainly not everything because even if I participated at the beginning with some pack it was him who very quickly took over (I was too busy on other projects) but in terms of quantity I would say that we are approaching 2000 / 2500 marquee (more than 1 terra that's for sure) at the very least and in terms of animation it is very much above what we see everywhere!

When I originally posited this question for this post, I didn't really concern myself with motivation. Someone's psychology and their desires for being a completionist aren't AS interesting to me to be honest. I simply wanted to know what is truly the biggest collection out there, especially one that could be said to be utter quality and not riddled with duplicates and nonsense, like beta, demos, garbage hacks, etc...
For me in that quest, I'm now up to 62,000 gaming titles and over 2,500 retro gaming magazines, comics, and strategy guides. The biggest limitation for me are the larger platforms that are huge... PS4 is starting to become emulate-able, so that's not even factored in at all in this collection...and then of course, there are a heck of a lot more PS3 titles that could be added to mine that won't fit unless you have a collection of large drives or a NAS to play it off of; but the latter always causes severe performance drops managing it (in my experience), so I'm sticking with external drives; a 16tb in my case, with all platforms possible using the besr lossless compression formats for them;, which even makes this count possible on this drive.
I forget !
For the PS4 you can already make a system: with the .exe pc. the majority of the big AAA are released on pc (come on, last guardian and medievil are missing and it will be perfect)
why wait for the emulation especially since you benefit from the best versions / not sure that the ps4 emulation arrives at this stage of improvement or not for a long time!

And you did well !! because it raises a real little debate, that's why I posted and I'm passionate about it! A post that dates back to 2017 and that continues to be updated, I want to say, so much the better!
and I'll tell you (just to develop further)
You did well! Because today we're sure of nothing! And I see a call for preservation... look!Who would have believed 4 years ago that Microsoft, after these billion-dollar buyouts, would withdraw as manufacturers and turn around to become publishers, leaving Nintendo and Sony the field clear....
Damn guys, Forza has been on PS5 for a week and Gears of Wars is coming! It's crazy... It's evolving so fast! The physical is inevitable disappears...
You are ultimately still guardians of completion and passionate people, ultimately the two ways of thinking agree...
The hardest thing is perhaps to make the young generation like our old games, tiktot and roblox, to pass the torch (as a certain solid snake would say).... And that's a whole different ball game!
Well, I managed to pass on my passion for manga and Japan, it's already a good base, nothing is lost!
Nothing is created but everything is transformed (as I would say, oh shit, I don't know anymore!)😂

Love the videos! You say add mine to complete, how do I go about adding mine? I just now finally noticed that entire section of the site and the "submit" a file button, lol. Trying to find a section of the site for Marquee videos, but don't see one so far. Going to finish the MK and Metal Slug series (mostly) and then I'll go back to making Platform videos since that seems to be what people need most.
Are you serious lol?! Oh well, at least my intervention will have allowed people to discover the possibility of uploading your creations! It will make people happy!
And please give him as many likes as possible to motivate him!

Yes, it was late, and my sentimental side came back! 😅 Of course everyone is free to do what they want, and i respect that but we can always discuss it!The eternal debate between the complete set and the perfect set, alala
But after all, that's what a fiorum is for: to express yourself. I hope no one takes it the wrong way! I just gave my feelings ^^

Nearly 50 consoles and an average of at least 5 views for each platform (the most popular platforms have complete views, so count 12!)
The 5 standalone games merged (without the interfaces) /
50 dedicated collections, EACH WITH almost complete view locations too...
Details and variations everywhere! Not to mention the Easter eggs! Mini-view/history native views for all remade consoles... (PS4/PS3/Wii/WiiU/XBOX/360/Switch)
I merged with my office chair for 2 months, but what a joy to have it (almost) finished!
ROUND icon / menu / intro playlist / game theme 90% entirely homemade!
Integrated VR + interactive video club
Emuvr integrated
Pfiouuuu
Oh, I forgot one detail... Absolutely all the backgrounds are hand-animated... NOTHING STILL!

Thanks for that, great community here! Those are nice Platform videos... is there anywhere I can download the Video Themes for each game in a system? For example all the games in Atari 2600 video themes? I've looked for hours and can't find anything???
Look my content share here maybe you'll find what you're looking for for the Atari 2600
more precisely here:( I revisited some of James's themes)

Salut,
Merci !

IN launchhbox does == tools === download == the platform playlist == at the very bottom you can choose classified by author (James is still present) be careful it is not at all up to date! (I say this especially for me because it was my very first video in 2017 ...)

Thanks for your answers @rétrojoshvc Overall, I think that highlighting creators raises the overall level. It motivates talent to excel, it inspires new vocations, and above all, it respects creative effort.
And believe me, when we do that, quality skyrockets, projects explode with creativity, and everyone wins – including users. I'm giving you the links again in case you missed them!
@rétrojoshvc You can also add yours to complete if you want. Unity is strength Because it's your post too lol! ^^

The question is interesting, but it's more akin to a technical challenge or compulsive completionist syndrome!"
Let's be honest: you all know that one lifetime will never be enough to play through all these games. We're no longer really in a collecting mindset, but rather in a sort of quest for self-satisfaction, even a frantic accumulation.
Because a real collection—whether physical or digital—is something to be browsed, admired, returned to, and taken the time to get a little lost in it.
Worse: it's not even certain you'll reopen this collection once it's completed...
Let's be honest: between us, the goal isn't really to play all these games anymore, is it? We're talking about thousands of titles piled up in a corner of a hard drive, carefully sorted, carefully categorized... and never launched.
We click, we download, we mentally check a box:
"This one's good, I've got it. Next one!"
But at what point did we start confusing collecting with compulsion?
And the worst part? The more we have, the less we play.
Because we don't even know where to start anymore. Because quantity kills desire. Because pleasure has been lost in the labyrinth of "having it all."A real collection, whether physical or digital, is something you experience. You contemplate it. You browse it, a bit like an old library.
You open a box, you remember a theme song, a cover, a startup sound...
You stop, you explore.
You feel something. What we're seeing more and more are folders filled to the brim with gems... that we haven't even taken the time to look at once.
Games that are sleeping in a corner of the frontend, like books we've never opened but are showing off in the window for show. What if we got back to basics? A console, a few games, a video theme that immediately sets the mood.
It's not the quantity that matters.
It's the story you tell with your collection.
The one you tell yourself. So yeah, install your games.
But above all: experience them.
Admire them. Rediscover them.
Because a frontend, a collection, isn't an Excel spreadsheet.
It's a living work of art.And you are its guardian.
