  1. That's something I hadn't considered. Assuming you don't want to add a label above the images that reflects where you are, could you maybe just honour the filter 'til the end of the session and then set it back to "all" on program terminate? I dunno though maybe that would irritate people. I don't envy you Wait a min' it just occurred to me. I was thinking in terms of the filter bar been just for systems, clearly it isn't, I can see that complicates things.
  2. Version 4.5 - beta 1 (Not sure if it was there prior to this). If you close the side bar it no longer honours your selection there. In other words it no longer filters your games but instead shows them all.
  3. I'll second the request for a different background per platform. Due to the inconsistency in quality and availability of fan art I don't use the per game feature.
  4. mattjyk said I'm using pcsx2, which doesn't have a retroarch core. i've tried messing with pcsx2 to get it to open on the tv but it doesn't work. right now i'm trying to find a way my controller can hit winkey+shift+left to move pcsx2 to my tv. ds4windows can make macros but it's bugged atm. Another useful alternative is Autohotkey which Launchbox already uses. It isn't specific to game controllers so it has a little bit of a learning curve(more time than difficultly) but once you get to grips with it you find yourself using it for all sorts from loading game ISOs in frontends to automating Windows tasks etc.
  5. A lot of games tend to do this if you have both screens running. A simple fix is to just have one screen running at a time if possible. Alternatively you could try "Retroarch" which allows you to set the output screen. You can of course continue to run LB in partnership with it, as I myself do. PS Sorry guys, I mentioned Retroarch again...
  6. Xananax said I know I totally contradict my first post (community too small to support LB development), but I'm just presenting another point of view. I have no idea if it is hard to get people to pay for it or not. I just hope it's not. Just to put my post into perspective, I have paid for LB.
  7. Behold my flannel ... (English(Yorkshire?) slang for verbal drivel) I would imagine it's quite hard to get people to pay for the type of software that can commonly be found for free. As a result I think it is really important that the free version doesn't lack any essential features and that the price remains within the realm of impulse purchase. I don't have any hard data on this but speaking from my own purchasing/donating habits they tend to be based on the responsiveness of the developer. Therefore I recommend you remain as active as you already are on the forum and be as responsive as you can when it comes to fixing small bugs etc..
  8. SentaiBrad said jamdvd said All ideas and suggestions to the application interface. The program turned out great! then it would be important to add video games and little variety of interfaces allow the user to create a theme or make a few different topics with the animation. What is this... even in regards to? I am kind of confused as to what you're trying to say or ask. jamdvd said I'm sorry I'm bad know English, I use a translator. But the program really like my friends in our country. I think it could become very popular. Нет необходимости принести свои извинения
  9. Jason Carr said Duckeenie said Have you tried Emumovies website? they have an app that scans your roms folders and will download artwork videos etc to the relevant folders. Used it for years comes highly recommended from me. Only snag is you have to pay a little, but he puts the work in so it's fair I think. Duckeenie, can you clue me in as to how to use all that? I haven't found a download for the app. It's on the downloads page Jason. It's called "EmuMovies DSU" As for using it, you'll have no problems; it's really intuitive
  10. martini said 1) Having a batch way to include the games artwork after they had been imported. I only find a way to include the artwork of games by going one by one after they get imported. I just wish there was a way to say, just download all this ROMs artwork in batch. 11. Well. ... Can you put a fruit pastel in your mouth without chewin' it?
  12. Just registered LB simply because you're such a cool guy.
  13. Sorry about the missing image I suspect the Mrs. has been tampering with the OneDrive folder again. Anyway to edit the post at this point?
  14. Background Remind me of an old favourite.
  15. I just sent a report actually before I figured this out. Avira Antivirus software blocks the update process silently and cause it to fail. People may need to disable their AV temporarily. Just a heads up for yourself and others.
  16. Jason Carr said Ah, yes, that's because it expects you to add two different platforms to the *same* emulator instead of two completely different emulators. You can specify different command line parameters for different platforms, even when using the same emulator. Oh I get it now, actually the system works really well once you understand the flow.
  17. Jason Carr said Duckeenie, can you explain what you mean by "no way to use an emulator for more than one set of ROMs"? Emulators support multiple platforms and can apply to any ROMs you want. I don't understand what you mean. Yeah, as an example I tried to set up two systems MegaDrive and Master System. I setup MegaDrive first and everything worked as expected. When I tried to add Master System LB complained that RetroArch was already in use and I must choose another emulator. Actually while I was typing I just realized one can probably differentiate between the two by changing the "Emulator Name" field.
  18. My initial thoughts on beta 2: "Import from ROM files" should probably say Import ROM files. Replace the term Delete in the GUI with Remove, it makes people much less nervous (not exclusive to beta 2). Now for the biggie! No way to use an emulator for more than one set of ROMs. which basically completely locks out us RetroArch users. Not sure if it works the same way in 4.0 because I've only set up one system currently.
  19. Jason Carr said The maths question...first time I've heard or seen that. But, odd. You got in though? Yeah I enlisted Windows calc to help with the second question. Seriously though, Maybe it was due to me flippin' between pages while I was writing my post.
  20. Jason Carr said Hey folks, I'm looking to simplify emulation for LaunchBox 4.2. In the very least, I'd like to include this list of settings within LaunchBox so that you can choose an emulator and have it automatically use the right settings. That said, it might be nice if I could include emulators for some platforms out of the box. I'd love to hear feedback on everyone's thoughts regarding this and what emulators they might suggest. I've looked into possibly including a multi-platform emulator like RetroArch or MESS but I have very little experience with them, and I'm not sure if that would be a good idea or not. Open to any and all ideas. The primary goal I have is to make emulation with LaunchBox as easy as possible, while allowing for customization where needed. Thanks, Jason With Retroarch you would need to consider: - No guarantee that the users config's will be the default names. I like to save mine based on the shader name rather than system. - No guarantee the configs will exist. The user has to open a core and save the config first. If you decide to include Retroarch you would need to provide a file selection box where the parameters go to allow the user to select their own config. That might be inconsistent and potentially confusing to people though so maybe just leaving Retroarch to be configured within LB manually. You will have to weigh it up. As for emulators maybe supply an emulator pack to go with LB but please don't include them in the main package, it would add a lot to your bandwidth cost and some people(I) would have no need for any of them. I love the idea of Launchbox working out of the erm ... box though, emulation has been a pain in the proverbial for far too long. Just answered the maths question wrong lol 7+7 is not that hard does it time out or something?
  21. Hope you get a lot of thanks for your awesome post!
  22. I recently changed the location of all my ROMs and discovered that LB doesn't appear to have a way to change the path per system instead of on an individual ROM basis. Fortunately I was able to use search and replace within the LB.xml. PS. I'm still quite new to LB so please forgive me if I missed something.
