  1. Sorry to hear that. That is a ton of additional work you shouldn't have to do. What they have is very good it just needs a wee bit more to make it great. :(
  2. I tried to send the below email to TheGamesDB.net but the forum is down and their email on there wiki is not working. I wanted to give the below suggestion to help them and you. If anyone has a contact for them can you please send on these suggestions. Thanks, Shades Dear TheGameDB, This is an amazing site you have! There are some suggestions I have to flesh out the system requirements section for the PC games. Under System Requirements: Use Multi select drop list, like you use for Genres, for each category's OS, Processor, RAM. etc Add whether the game uses mouse and/or joystick Other platforms: There are a lot of games that are included in collection packages and should be linked to. Clear logo, banners, fan art should be cross platform. (maybe this is and I haven’t noticed it. Other system details to add under requirements Game Aspect ratio. All MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 and most Win95/98 games are 4:3 Launch game file name Install file name Setup file name All of this info can be very helpful when using DOSBox. Some games have additions executable files that should be tracked and labeled like a saved game transfer. Most games no longer have support anymore but there are fan organizations that can help. For example WCNews.com is a great site for support for Wing Commander games. Maybe something like this can be added. Adding Game Manuel’s Those are my thoughts. If you need me to expound upon any of these further don't hesitate to ask. Keep up the great work. :D Sincerely, Shades
  3. Kriven said One thing I've noticed while doing this is that LaunchBox's native alphabetization is a little wrong. For instance, it seems to place special characters after "Z" when they should technically be placed before "#". By this I mean the traditional hierarchy is: Special Characters > Numbers > Letters. I have a number of B.P.R.D. comics which, because of their spelling, should come before all other comics beginning with the letter "B". Instead they come at the end. Similarly, Son of Sinbad, because of the short word "Son", is following "Sonic the Hedgehog", when "Son of Sinbad" should be coming first. Jason Carr said Yeah, truth. I have some custom alphabetization in place to handle game order better, but it sometimes gets in the way. I have an item on my list to allow customization of that. I've had a similar issue with one of my games not being in the right place. Forgotten realms Vol I: keeps being placed between Vol III: and Vol IV:. The alphabetization might need a little bit of a tweaking.
  4. Jason, When all these Dos games came out there weren't joysticks or game controllers with a lot of buttons. The key-mapping will allow you to set buttons on your controller to do things you would normally have to push keys on your keyboard to do. I found out that DosBox has a built in key-mapping feature. It can be used for joysticks or other devices. When in Dosbox press ctrl-f1 and it will pop up. Also, another command I found out about in Dosbox is "Mixer /listmidi". Type this in DosBox and it will show all the midi devices you have installed and what ID they are. I used this to set up Munt. It works just find with your program. I hope this helps. :D Sincerely, Shades
  5. Thanks for this great App! I already mentioned adding Munt, a great Roland emulator to you. I would like to suggest adding the keymapper ability to where the game specific custom DosBox configuration is. Also manuals would be on the CD images we create but we can't point into the CD image. Just some ides. Keep up the great work!
