  1. Thanks, I had a feeling it was going to be an edit the theme thing.  Haven't had a chance to test yet, but thanks for the tip.

It seems like the best solution would be to have the carousel hide if there is only one image.  I can't imaging anyone would want the two redundant images, but who knows.

Or... in Tools < Options < Visuals < Platform Details, un-check the top 4 boxes.

Thanks for the reply.  If I uncheck all four, it also removes the large image (as shown above).  It becomes a blank frame.  I'm wanting to have the large picture with no carousel (smaller) beneath.

  3. I have one image for each platform (a console image)... what this causes is that you see the image (large) and then repeated (small) in the image carousel beneath it.  Is there a way to remove the carousel from the platform details section so that you don't have the two redundant images (would also save space)?  This is with the default theme.  Thanks for the help.

  4. I'm not sure if this would be an issue with Retro Acheivements or the progress feature in LB, but I finished a game since the progress features were recently added and it didn't change the "active" badge to "beaten" or "completed".  Are there any known issues that would cause this?  I haven't messed with the RA prior to the progress features being added.

we have put in a potential fix for the issue you were hitting with the MAME Arcade Full Set Importer. Previously, if LaunchBox timed out when trying to reach MAME's GitHub to fetch all available versions, it would block you from moving forward. Now, if that request fails, there is a fallback that should let you continue down the manual path and point directly to your own MAME emulator. Hopefully you have some time to confirm this works for you now.

Thanks... I think it must have been someone else having this issue.

  6. I noticed that when you set "arrange by" as "progress" it now moves your active game group to the bottom (you can reverse the order but then it also reverses the alphabetical sub-order).  I thought the behavior in a previous beta with the active games group at the top made more sense.  I guess this might be because of the new progress system?

Thought this was a fluke on beta 1, for it happened one time, but happened to me again now. Very rare but when I launched LB it hung like this:

Have to kill iit on task manager since it's completely unresponsive. No clue what causes it and can't replicate since it's very rare.

This has happened to me, occasionally, and other people reported it as well, but they don't know what causes it.

Beta 2 for LaunchBox 13.23 is now available, and it brings even more polish and usability improvements. Here is what is new in this update:

    • New Feature: A new Media Settings section under Tools > Options > Media > Automatic Imports lets users customize which media files are downloaded during automated imports

This is a great, common sense improvement.  Maybe not the flashiest update ever, but this is a great time saver.  It was tedious to re-check these boxes each time you imported something.  So, thanks for this update... I really like to see these practical improvements.

You mean like Menu > Help > Check For Updates... ?

Yes... that's exactly what I was looking for... I didn't think to look there, was looking in the update options, but thanks for pointing it out.

Unified Redux has been updated to version 1.91 which can be downloaded/updated from the manage themes section if you are on beta 1+.

I've just updated to the latest beta, but I'm not seeing this one in the manage themes section.  Is there anything else I need to do?

  11. Would it be possible to add an "update now" button in the update options.  This would be useful if you have updates turned off but might want to update to the new beta.  This would prevent having to turn on beta updates, close launchbox, and restart launchbox... you could just click "update now" to start the process.  This is something a lot of programs have for people that just want to update once but not accept every update and I think it would be a useful tool for beta people.

The thing that makes it take WAY longer is if your ROMs are in 7z format since that app doesn't support it so we have to unzip your game, THEN hash it for each item you're scanning.

Ok, that's good info... thank you.  I don't think I have many in 7z, but I probably have some.

*edit*  Ok, I see my Dreamcast disc images are 7zipped.  That was probably adding a lot of time to that process.

  13. That retro achievements scan is a pretty lengthy process.  Is that because of RA and nothing can be done for it, or is there something that could be done to speed it up?  I started it, went and had lunch and came back, the progress bar had barely moved.
