Sorry to report that Image Height settings in the Configure Layout are still not sticking in beta 4. They reset when LB is re-started.
-
I opened LB tonight to find that all my grid image height settings for all my platforms had reset to 1.00.
-
I wasn't using a controller at the time, so it may be something similar but not exactly the problem you were having.
-
Beta 3... I'm getting a message when I start LB that another instance is running. I check the task manager and there is, in fact, a LaunchBox task that has been stuck open probably for hours since I closed it this morning.
-
A question about the caching... when I adjust image height in the configure layout menu, this is only affecting the grid of one platform (the image height isn't affected for all other platforms) but then LB triggers a cache rebuild (progress bar at the top) for every platform. Is that necessary? Could that cache rebuild happen for only the affected platform?

I get a freeze-up with the configure menu for the grid open after updating to beta 3 and making some changes to the grid size on the sliders. Entire screen freezes with the menu open. *edit* It eventually generated an error report. Not enough quota is available to process this command. Yeah, despite my comments, above, there is a noticeable image pop-in in the grid when switching from one platform to another. It's like it is trying to load all the images before showing any, whereas before the initial images you see would load very quickly... making it now seem slower overall to the user.
-
Just a quick question about the image grid options... do these save per platform, so that you can have a shorter grid for horizontal boxes (like SNES) and taller for something like NES?
-
The new image grid options are a very nice improvement for non-BigBox users. This is most welcome. It took a moment to figure out where the options were at, but this is a great way to set things up, and I think it opens up all kinds of possibilities (maybe a right-click media edit menu with a similar pop-up options box... just thinking out loud). I notice that initially the grid images were having a lot of pop-in loading right after the beta update, but after making changes in the grid options that triggered a full load (with the little progress bar at the top) that performance seems to be very good. Thanks for this improvement! LB users appreciate this.

The over-sensitive thing happens when the column you are re-sizing is close to the edge of the screen... if you scroll it to the middle the warp speed re-sizing doesn't happen.
-
Ok... thanks. So, if you set the default you can still change them individually?
-
It would basically be like the CD cover in most music players (foobar, etc) where the CD cover image is re-sizable and the music track info/metadata is next to it. That's how I was thinking anyway... just a thought.
-
This is probably just me not understanding exactly what this means, but haven't the viewing options always shown the same category for each platform? *edit* Also... I'm looking at the list mode, and I haven't used it in a long time, but it seems a lot more usable. Question... are there plans to add an optional, resizable "box image" column to the list mode? I know it's supposed to be mostly for information sorting, but an image might make it a lot more appealing to some people.

I definitely like that you can quit from the system tray now.
-
I think it plays... but not positive.

I had reported a game not updating to beaten/completed (whatever it's supposed to be when you finish the game the first time). Not sure if it's a retro problem or LB... I don't think I ever got any feedback on that. Anyway, could be related if stats aren't tracking correctly.

What's new in 13.24 beta 1?
-
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Everybody wins.

Thanks, I had a feeling it was going to be an edit the theme thing. Haven't had a chance to test yet, but thanks for the tip. It seems like the best solution would be to have the carousel hide if there is only one image. I can't imaging anyone would want the two redundant images, but who knows.
-
Thanks for the reply. If I uncheck all four, it also removes the large image (as shown above). It becomes a blank frame. I'm wanting to have the large picture with no carousel (smaller) beneath.
-
Yeah... it should be the same thing for anyone using the default theme and looking at the platform details.
-
I have one image for each platform (a console image)... what this causes is that you see the image (large) and then repeated (small) in the image carousel beneath it. Is there a way to remove the carousel from the platform details section so that you don't have the two redundant images (would also save space)? This is with the default theme. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure if this would be an issue with Retro Acheivements or the progress feature in LB, but I finished a game since the progress features were recently added and it didn't change the "active" badge to "beaten" or "completed". Are there any known issues that would cause this? I haven't messed with the RA prior to the progress features being added.
-
Thanks... I think it must have been someone else having this issue.
-
Ah... got it. Thank you.
