@dmjohn0x appreciate you trying to help the community but you can't link to sites that allow you to download copyright protected material. I removed the links for you.

    It works!!!!!

thank you A.I Overlord I really appreciate your solution.

Its good that someone thought outside the box for this solution because honestly, what your asking is to circumvent DRM, which nobody can do for fear of causing the site legal problems in the future. All these launchers are annoying, just like all other forms of DRM, but you've gotta find a fix on your own to bypass them. Luckily, this solution doesnt get rid of the 2K launcher at all, but manages to work around the real issue... You can probably use this script with minor editing for other launchers too. Clever.

  3. Launchbox wont patch your games on the fly with an IPS file, if that is what you are asking. You need to obtain the original rom and apply the romhack patch yourself, then add the modified rom to launchbox as you would any other game. Hope this clarifies.

  4. Im currently going through mentions in this thread to update links so people can actually find these games. Some have since either been delisted or sent cease and desist letters etc.

Bunny Must Die! was mentioned by someone earlier in the thread but it has since been delisted from Steam, and Desura, thus is no longer obtainable on PC according to: https://delistedgames.com/bunny-must-die-chelsea-and-the-7-devils/

That said, the PC Port can be found on Archive.org by searching " creator:"Platine Dispositif", and you can purchase the game currently on the PS4 Store and the Switch eShop. But who knows for how long... Seems the creator of the game had a dispute with the translator so the game is being delisted once contracts expire.

    Power Bomberman:( http://www.bombermanboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=1925  )

Then you have Sonic: After the Sequel which is probably the most popular Sonic Fangame that didnt rebrand to release as a unique IP (Freedom Planet:

Speaking of Sonic: ATS, the Dev "LakeFepard" started his own indie game studio and has released 3 sonic inspired games since: ( https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/10933/Spark_it_up_Fark_it_up/ )

Now Hydorah was a SHMUP I never heard of and it was quite fun, and is still freely available here: ( https://locomalito.com/hydorah.php )

  6. XboX isnt possible. Currently, the only active Xbox emulator is still a ways off before being considered usable. It only boots several games and only a few of those are playable.

    Gamecube is possible Via Dolphin.

PS2 is possible, but the only Proven emulator for PS2 is PCSX2 which is x86 only and not open-source, meaning whichever platform you use has to either be x86 or have an internal PS2 emulator.

Seems to me that your best bet is likely an x86 mini-PC build using BigBox. That said, Storage WILL be an issue. PSX alone is 500+GB for just the complete US RomSet. PS2 has significantly more games and many of them on DVDs rather than CDs (4.5gb vs 700mb), Gamecube discs are mini-dvds so roughly 3x larger than your average CD.

If you want to play the entire GC and PS2 library without issue.... I'd suggest a gen 2 Ryzen APU. Alternatively, you can pick up a 4th gen or better i3 and a gtx 750 or better gpu. Both will probably need 8gb RAM because Win 10 and large BigBox collections can be resource hungry. But by far, your largest issue will be Storage. 2TB minimum for highly curated sets for those two consoles. Also, a bonus, Wii should work reasonably well on any system that can emulate Gamecube.

You can easily consolize a PC to do what you want, but if you were hoping for something as small as a Single Board PC like the Raspberry Pi for this project, we are likely still a several years away.

  7. Personally, I like achieves a lot at first on Steam and the like, but lost interest quickly when they started giving you achieves for simply playing the game.

I really don't believe it was a selling feature but I do know people like them.

I mean, for some it was, I remember people using it as a selling point for 360 until Playstation added trophy support. And I knew people who specifically bought some games because they had more achievement  point per dollar.

  9. Ah, I just know while some people are vocal about not caring or wanting achieves, many people do. It was a selling feature of the 360/ps3 generation. Its important to more than a few people and Id hate to see it just scratched out as impossible and not revisited going forward.

Hey all, I have a new email going out with some of this info, but it may take a few days for everyone to get it. Wanted to open up discussion on two of the remaining items from the poll.

First off, controller definitions. On the pause screens we put in a place to display the controller definitions images from EmuMovies for the Arcade platform. These images are available for free from EmuMovies (so you don't need a paid account). For example:

Centipede-01.thumb.png.28d1b27ed3b2c9b06aa4508a21ff037c.pngThey now display on the pause screens with the default pause theme for the Arcade platform. To be honest, I don't know of a better way to do this than to just use images like this. It would be great if images like this were available for other platforms as well, but I think arcade is the important one because it has all of the different games with different controls. Based on this, I'm considering crossing the "Control Definitions" item off the list. I know there are other things we could add, like Big Box navigation icons and such, but those are so theme-specific that it's probably best to leave up to the theme developers anyways. Thoughts?

The other one to discuss is "Retro Achievements Further Integration". I added the retro achievements list to the pause screens, so you can now view your achievements while the games are running, which technically does cover the item from the poll. There are other things we could do, such as leaderboards and such, but honestly I'm fairly doubtful that there would be much interest in those types of features. I know that the #1 thing that people want is live achievement popups (in the game as you get the achievements), but there are a number of hurdles in the way there that pretty much make that impossible, including a lack of features with the Retro Achievements API. So considering all of that, I'm also considering crossing off the retro achievements item as well. Thoughts?

What I do plan to tackle next are "Custom Default Game Images for Each Platform" and "Proper Support for Pinball", which hopefully will both make it into the next official release. I'm trying to push things forward here, because I believe there are some great items that we can put on the next poll that would probably be more popular than some of these remaining items to tackle. That said, if you have suggestions on either of these two items (or the other two that I'm looking to cross off), I'd love to hear them. :)

Id vote we not remove Reto Achievements. Its a wanted feature and just because the API doesnt give itself currently to better integration easily doesnt mean its impossible or wont be so later. Has anyone reached out to them?

Updating from PD isn't hard at all. Just remove the torrent file from your seedbox torrent UI but leave the content on the server. Download the new torrent from PD and rename the folder on your seedbox to match what the new set will be and pull the torrent into your seedbox torrent. It will do a check and only download what is new and updated, which won't take long at all. Then you can use the text list to grab what you want from your seedbox how I described above.

I know its not difficult. I was simply thinking about how much better it'd be if we could figure out how to completely automate the process.

Oh you must have been talking about the first No Filler batch file which wasn't mine exactly, I stole it from a forum thread on arcadecontrols.com site.

I did a version 2 of the No Filler project where I took feedback from people here on the forums and on Discord and built a set / batch file which uses the Non Merged Mame rom set.

Nice. Gives me an excuse to update to the latest MAME set. Thanks for your work, brother.
