  1. Here's my "functional" LaunchBox instance: My "frozen" instance earlier today was identical to this, so I didn't save the screenshot. Note: I just launched a fresh instance, which is why the processor usage is so high.
  2. I actually just checked that independently earlier today after the "freeze" happened again after a round of Rocket League. There are 2 subprocesses, but they were there after LaunchBox restart, too.
  3. Just bumping this to page 2 so a team member doesn't accidentally miss it.
  4. I've anecdotally felt like the same thing, that it happens randomly and not as a result of a game launch or close action, but could not be 100% sure that it didn't happen after closing a game from a previous play session and that I didn't notice until I came back later.
  5. @Sbaby let's do a little recon here to see if we can help out the team. Do you have any software installed which may interact with the Windows environment or task bar in any way, such as my situation with DisplayFusion? Do you have any non-default settings in your LaunchBox install as it pertains to games - for example, I have the Launch Screen disabled in my settings. Other things might include (but not in my case), AHK scripts or other software which may get invoked when launching a game.
  6. Please see the attached video. pFN1V0aIqA.mp4
  7. Hi @AstroBob - yes, I have an NVIDIA 4090 on the latest 566.05 driver version with Windows 10. I update it regularly, so it's not likely version-specific. I do use DisplayFusion, which has functions integral to my workflow (such as a separate task bar for my second [vertical] monitor). I do use full-screen settings typically in games, though this has shown up even for games I play regularly and do not consistently see this issue. It can sometimes happen within minutes of loading LaunchBox, and other times it could be days between issues. It never happened until it did, and since then I have had the problem across all versions of LaunchBox and GPU driver. I also used DisplayFusion and my physical monitor setup prior to this issue starting. I may have upgraded my second monitor to an DisplayPort input from a DVI input in August 2023, which was just after I first reported this issue. The issue began beginning a couple of versions before the original post date. My main monitor is G-SYNC, and my secondary monitor is FreeSync (but the old secondary monitor did not have VRR).
  8. To be clear, I mentioned dual monitors in case it helped in identifying the root cause. I don't necessarily believe dual monitors to be the issue, however. I thought maybe after recovering from idle monitor power down, but that is definitely not the case, either. It doesn't always happen after closing a game, I don't think, though that definitely does happen. It's not the LaunchBox freezes as in the typical app hanging freeze. It's that I can't actually click into LaunchBox and navigate around in anything any longer. You can't even properly select the window from the task bar. If you have it behind another window, for instance, it won't be returned to the foreground when clicking the task bar. You can alt-tab to LaunchBox, but you are still unable to interact with it. The only way to address the issue is to task kill it from the task manager and launch it again. As for the version, it has been happening for well over a year now, across all versions of LaunchBox since before I reported it in July 2023. I update regularly.
  9. Still continue to have this issue. This morning, I've had to task kill LB 3 separate times due to issues with being able to restore interaction capabilities with the LaunchBox app. I really am at a loss as to better helping identify why this is happening. It cannot obviously be reproduced, but it happens to me multiple times a week, if not multiple times a day.
  10. @Lordmonkus can you please move this to the troubleshooting forum?
  11. This is still happening on the latest version of LaunchBox for me. It always seems to show up after having played a game. If I just launch LaunchBox and don't start a game, the problem does not seem to arise. It also doesn't happen every time. I still haven't been able to pinpoint when/why it happens.
  12. Still having this issue in December. It's not actually related to my dual-monitor setup though, I don't think. LaunchBox just seems to get into a state where I can't actually get it to regain focus unless I kill it from the task manager and restart it. I don't know how to actively reproduce it, but it has been happening for a number of months now.
  13. Steam has decided to include items in my library that I can hide in steam, but always show up on imports when I run the LaunchBox importer. Typically these are "test" or "beta" servers/games or utility software. Is there a way I can tell LaunchBox to permanently ignore these items and not show them in the import list?
  14. Awesome, it backed up perfectly as well. Super thankful for your help. Now to assess whether or not it's actually worth upgrading to 6.0 - y'know, as the old adage goes - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Or "leave well enough alone."
  15. Beautiful, installing the link extension worked. Thank you! Now I need to make sure when I back up this folder, it's not going to try and copy all of eXoDOS as well haha
  16. Ok I'll check it out in a bit. When you say symlink, you mean the Windows version aka shortcut, right?
  17. I just downloaded it haha. But I wasn't sure if the issue was resolved though so I didn't want to go through the whole process again and end up with the same issue haha.
  18. No the LB install is in C. No symlinks either - just correct XML pathing. I'll check when I get home on of I kept the whole deeper folder structure. Not sure on what you mean by unsetting and setting perms again though.
  19. @Timber-eXoProjects Yes, actually - the games are on my drive mounted NAS. All the games are extracted, ie "installed." This is v5. Since this is my LaunchBox instance, is this plugin even there? Maybe it came over when I copied folders into my existing install, but I don't recall explicitly grabbing a plug-in for the migration. Thanks for working with me on this.
  20. Here's an example video of what's going on. LaunchBox 2023-12-12 10-53-29.mp4 Edit: Apologies for the dialogue and child windows not showing, but what I'm doing is right-clicking, edit, then marking the game as installed. Then I "Play" the game, and quit. When I quit, I click the next game cover and go back to GTA, and you can then see that the game has reverted its "Installed" status and offers me to once again install the game. It only reverts after launching and quitting the game. Even though it's offering to Install the game, if I click that Install button, it launches the game just fine.
  21. Is there a way to simply disable the "Install" button and always show the "Play" button instead? I just don't understand why LaunchBox is reverting the "Installed" checkbox after I've already marked the game as installed every single time after quitting the game.
  22. I didn't see it as an additional app when I checked, but I manually added the game and manually inserted the steam id for the launcher. It actually wasn't easy to find the game in the LBDB, but I did end up finding it after some ninja searching.
  23. I actually came here after eXo declined to support me integrating into my existing LaunchBox install and sent me here instead.
  24. Anybody else going through this exercise and have any thoughts or recommendations on resolving this?
  25. Hey all - I have the 2007 RE4 version in my Steam library. I just purchased the remake and imported it into LaunchBox. However, I didn't select the option to force the import of duplicate games. Now, I don't see the new RE4 remake in my library, just the original version, and if I go to import again, it's not listed there, either. How do I find the new RE4 remake purchase and force it to be represented in LaunchBox separately from the original version?
