Here's what I found out when getting Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Duel Terminal 6 working. The full directory/file path cannot be more than 64 characters and cannot have any "special" characters. If it does it just closes. Once I corrected the file path problem the game loaded fine.
to import the game into LaunchBox and it match the GamesDB I created a folder with a name that matches the gamesdb. Inside I created a dummy file that matches TeknoParrot user profile xml.

my emulator settings. I use dummy files to make this work
Platform Settings. I have the Games mainly separated into 2 folder one for Arcade and one for Taito Type X, When you look up TeknoParrot games on the GamesDB these are the 2 platforms you find them in.
Find the Game on the LaunchBox GamesDB
Name the folder to mimic the LBGDB
Then inside of the Game folder I create a dummy file that matches the TeknoParrot User profile file but with a .appid file extension.
The User profile file gets created after adding and setting up the game inside of the TeknoParrot UI.
Now to just import one game at a time just drag and drop the appid file into LaunchBox or Tools - Import - Roms - Add File and locate the appid file
If you would like to import a whole batch of games at once. For the TeknoParrot Arcade platform. Go to the TeknoParrot Arcade folder in File Explorer and search for *.appid. Wait for spinning wheel. Select All and drag and drop into Launchbox. If you have Launchbox open to the platform you are importing it makes it easier
Now we are in the Import Wizard in LaunchBox. Choose Rom Files. The Platform options.
The Emulator Options. Use the files in their current location.
Keep going through the wizard. Choose the options you would like.
Emumovies options. Now on this next page make sure to check Use folder names instead of rom file names...
and the final of the import wizard. Single Game. Batch of Games
if the folder names match the GamesDB you get nicely added games and can match EmuMovies too.
If there are entries in the GamesDB and/or EmuMovies you'll have the metadata and artwork.

Add a keyboard enter press to the game's AHK script

I just figure out if a key combination like ALT+F4 works to close the game. Then make sure the AHK lunchbox script is good/matches what I figured out. The close active window script works well to.

How are you using the controller? USB or wireless? What apps/programs are you using for the PS4 controller? Steam input, ds4, rewasd, etc?
-
Maybe dolphin is changing the controller order? Hence the color change. Does input work in dolphin for your controller? There is also the setting in big box to allow all controllers to control big box, not just player 1.
After all that I think dolphin is re initializing the controller in sdl mode, the controller turns blue. After exiting is the light still blue or does it go back to white?

To just move it around it would be
Ares.exe %romfile% --fullscreen
The work around I usually do is hard code the path and standardize the file name. Also have to add it as a separate emulator name like ares (N64dd expansion)
ares.exe "c:\roms\n64\%romfile%.zip" "c:\roms\n64dd\%romfile%-expansion.zip" --fullscreen
You would point to the original N64 rom for import. Also have to check the 2 boxes for file path/extension and remove quotes

You could paste the URL link of this post to the changes/add submissions you are doing if they keep getting rejected

here's a short video on what I mean. you just copy and paste the url of the image into the Windows Explorer dialog box
-
You can paste an URL into the Windows explorer dialog when you add an image. Windows will download the image (works like 99% of the time). Just make sure to click on the save/ok for lunchbox to copy the image to it's images folder. Windows downloads the image to the temp internet folder and if you wait to long windows will clear the cache

If the art work is neat looking I like having multiple box art, disc, clear logos. Lunchbox will pick one from the multiples. Get to randomly see the cool / alternate art work.
If I wanna keep it I change the image type from box front to fan art front box or whatever

Need directx 9 and it installs to the c drive, with windows (that's just how it works)
-
Might have to run the core and look inside the retroarch history playlist (with a text editor) to see the specifics
-
If the rom file isn't in the platform root directory lunchbox will do that when adding games. I wish it wouldn't, because sometimes the rom for a game needs to be in its own folder
-
been trying to figure this out. I wanted the game launched thru teknoparrot. I went youtube searching and found a video but they didn't explain anything, just showed it working. After looking and looking I found this forum post
(((Moderator: Deleted link as Emuline site contains roms))). with these downloads ArcCabView
I used the ArcCabView generic version and followed the readme.
Now GigaWing Generations launches from TeknoParrot UI and launchbox in the correct mode with bezels

In the launch options for the game maybe finding the gameid and adding steam://rungameid/thesteamidnumber
See if it launches the game. Also having the steam game url will also allow launchbox to download Metadata from steam

I believe in the future Windows 11 will have the Google play store but for now (in the Insider builds maybe?) there's supposed to be the Amazon App store

After successfully importing. See what happens when you just download media per game
-
Try importing without downloading media

Parsec is a good program for remoting in to a computer and it supports gamepads. There is also Steam in home streaming. I use Splashtop personal for general remote stuff as well. As for a laptop just about anything really, I would just make sure it has good wifi ac (5ghz) and at least a 1080p screen. Also a good keyboard and trackpad
-
Happens to me too. I have to wait and wait then finally the edit window opens and responds
-
Might need an ahk script that sends the keyboard shortcut to exit retroarch so retroarch can write the files it needs to as its closing
-
Use the variable %romfile%
Is there a proper documentation for Launchbox and BigBox somewhere? Besides lengthy youtube tutorials?

A nice wiki database thing like the retroarch/libretro wiki
