  1. My reasons are:

1 - Launchbox is the only frontend AFAIK that has a desktop mode (launchbox) AND a couch mode (Bigbox). Other frontends have 1 or the other but not both.

2 - mgalaxy is too simple and not very customizable for my taste. I do love how a female voice says "launching game" when you select a game though. X-D

3 - EmulationStation, Ice and Hyperspin require editing of text files to setup which is a pain in the ass for me, even with documentation. Yes hyperspin does have GUI programs to help make setup easier but still not as easy as launchbox.

4 - Couldn't get rocketlauncher and retrofe working. Maybe I was doing something wrong, IDK.

5 - GameEX crashes on some settings and takes forever to load different themes.

6 - Thanks to Bigbox custom themes, I can download and use themes to make bigbox look like emulationstation, recalbox and even hyperspin.

    and many more...

  2. I never use wireless. Last thing I need is to run out of battery power while fighting a boss or in a competitive match and batteries aren't cheap these days either. I use the PDP Xbox One wired controller on Windows 10. Problem with this controller though is that it's very difficult, if not impossible, to get it to run on windows 7. This controller forced me to upgrade to windows 10 in order to use it but windows 10 isn't so bad once you get used to it.

  3. DancinShade I highly recommend you get the yearly license just to give bigbox a test drive and decide for yourself if you love it enough to upgrade to lifetime license or hate it enough to use something else. I've tried most of the frontends available and for me personally, LB/BB is the best and easiest I've used. I 1st bought the yearly license to test it out and after a month I was hooked and decided to upgrade to lifetime license and never looked back nor regretted it since. Also if you decide to purchase an emumovies license, you only need the monthly license ($20 for 1st month, $5 per month thereafter) to download whatever videos you need/want. One of the many awesome things about BB is the custom themes where if you like the looks of the emulationstation or hyperspin frontends but don't like how complicated and/or time consuming they are to setup, there's BB custom themes that you can download that make BB look exactly (or VERY similar) like them so you get best of both worlds.

Thanks for everyones help...I feel super dumb....user error was the culprit....when I would scan was using LB....the scan would some times pick a bin file track 1 for the cue file....it does work now....all I have to do now is right click on the game thats not working and change the location of the rom to the correct cue file for each game....but now that I learned you can convert the games to a smaller single file....I just might do that....thanks again....what a great forum

    No problem.

  5. Anyways...I just downloaded 2Xtreme and extracted and tested and its working fine. The 1st pic is what all your files should be named as and the second pic is what the cue file should say inside it. You can copy and paste this into the cue file to make things quicker:

FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 1).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 2).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 02 AUDIO
        INDEX 00 00:00:00
        INDEX 01 00:02:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 3).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 03 AUDIO
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 4).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 04 AUDIO
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 5).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 05 AUDIO
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 6).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 06 AUDIO
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 7).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 07 AUDIO
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "2Xtreme (USA) (Track 8).bin" BINARY
      TRACK 08 AUDIO
        INDEX 01 00:00:00

When you import the cue file into LB it SHOULD run perfectly now.

Just got home and thinking again of just converting all games to PBP format cause its much neater......I was going to convert 2Xtream mabye you can point out which file to grab to convert...the first picture is what I have in my 2xtream folder

next what you see is what I can pick in the converter...

Dont bother converting games with multiple track bin files like that. psx2psp can only merge and convert up to 5 bin files at a time and besides that, Track1.bin is the main game itself while the other bin files are just the game's music files. Either download a pre-made pbp of these games or keep them extracted in a folder like that and import the cue file only. Also rename and add (Track 1) to the last file.

    mednafen_psx_hw_libretro and in retroarch....

Ok I'm also using that. I usually have the SKIP BIOS core option enabled cause the bios load screen takes up time. I don't see how anyone can mess up the pbp file with psx2psp as you just select the bin file you want to convert and click convert and voila done. Maybe the game you are trying to run isn't quite fully compatible with the psx core OR you have a bad/corrupted dump OR something else. what game are you trying to run and is it NTSC or PAL version?

OK you now just rename that EBOOT.PBP to whatever the game name is. Example is Croc Legend of the Gobbos.PBP. Also go into PSX2PSP and select options, Folders tab and at the bottom select Create Main Game Title Folder so that the folder that gets created is the name of the game and not its game ID like what it is currently. While you're in options go to Theme tab and uncheck Use Theme Mode (Restart Needed) if you haven't done so yet. Now you can use that .PBP file in retroarch, epsxe and pcsx-reloaded.

@Shinryu no freaking way....Ill have to try that asap....kinda busy now but I will do it

I think I worded myself a bit incorrectly and therefore sounded inaccurate. I meant PCSX Reloaded, Retroarch psx cores and ePSXe all support pbp out of the box so once the conversion is done you can load the pbp file with the emulators straight away. The reason behind changing the options is that changing the folder name options makes it easier to see what game the eboot file is so you can rename it and the theme mode needs to be disabled if you want to merge and convert games with multiple discs/bin files into 1 pbp.

I really couldn't find a good tutorial.....found one but the picture aids were missing

I converted the bin file and ended up with a folder called SCUS94508 with a pbp file called EBOOT.......could someone please tell me what to do with this....

this is the page I was looking at

They are quite close, but as you see in the image R/L are raised and R2/L2 are lowered and also have a curve to them so it actually feels really nice. The only downside is L2/R2 are digital buttons not analog triggers, but they work just fine for emulation, if i'm playing a PC racing game I switch to my XBONE controller though.

ah I see. cool stuff. X-D

  11. Personally I'd get either the XBOX ONE S controller or DUALSHOCK 4 Controller as they have bluetooth and have more buttons to assign hotkeys like save/load states, fast forward and rewind but if retro nostalgia is what you want mostly and dont care about hotkeys then 8bitdo controllers are perfect.
