  1. I know that this is a bit of an open ended question, but as I install and set up more and more platforms and games onto my system, it is becoming apparent that my system is just a bit to old and slow to cope. My end goal is to have a fully functioning arcade machine, running BigBox with Coverflow (running fast and smooth!) I have tried various things that have been suggested (from a previous topic I started), but all to no avail. My current system is:- Windows 7 Enterprise (x64) Intel core i3-550 (3.2Ghz) 8mb Memory (2 x paired 4mb) NVidia GeForce GTS 250 GPU Soundblaster Audigy card 2TB SETA HDD (Solely for LaunchBox) 150GB SETA HDD, for Windows etc. Platforms to run:- ZX Spectrum, Amiga, NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Gamecube, Master System, MegaDrive, etc etc, and MAME, CPS 1,2,3, Atomiswave etc etc. (Basically, everything) Roughly, what would be the recommended spec of a system capable of running Coverflow etc perfectly, or any upgrades that would bring my system 'upto' spec? Any help, or suggestions much appreciated!
  2. Hi Jason, thanks for the reply - I am fairly new to this, so am pretty much learning as I go along! How do I 'bind a key' or button to switch view, is it fairly straightforward? Cheers
  3. Hi all, just updated to the recent Beta version, however I am now unable to change features in BigBox, i.e Games list view and Platforms list view. You can change the type of view in the menu, however the actual view does not change. It is stuck on 'Fullscreen Coverflow' and 'Platform Wheel 1' Any suggestions? Cheers
  4. Thanks for the replies, I will have a play around with a few things. I do have another Graphics card that I can try if needs be.
  5. Probably would help! Running Windows 7 (64bit), Service Pack 1. Intel i3 550 (3.2Ghz) processor 8mb Memory Nvidia GeForceGTS 250 Graphics card 160GB HDD For Windows etc (c:) 2TB HDD for LaunchBox and ROMs etc (h:)
  6. D'oh. Just got to grips searching and downloading ROMs!
  7. Just tried that, I have set it to HLE, but still the same. I have bsnes-mercury (Balanced) loaded as well? Probably missing something stupid, pretty much learning as I go!
  8. Thanks for that - tried both of those cores, but still the same. All other games work fine, just MarioKart? I have 3 ROMs, USA, Europe and Japan, but all the same?
  9. Cheers for the replies - is Bsnes Mercury Balanced/Accuarcy a different core to plain Bsnes Accuracy?
  10. Hi all, can't seem to get Mariokart running in SNES. I am using Retroarch, with the bsnes accuracy core. I have had a look around on Google, and there seems to be some extra BIOS needed. Any ideas if this is correct? Cheers
  11. Hi all, I have got BigBox up and running, and have installed SNES and NES through Retroarch. All seems OK, however when using Coverflow, it is very not very smooth at all, very juddery. I have played around with the image quality, and Wheel speeds, but to no avail. Any ideas, or help much appreciated! Cheers
  12. Hi, not on the same email for some reason, have dropped an email to Jason. Cheers
  13. Hi all, just upgraded my LaunchBox account to premium, I was also about to upgrade EmuMovies as well, but remembered something about a discount seems that I have upgraded LaunchBox? Does anybody know if its true, how I get the code? Cheers all
  14. Hi all, following on from my previous post/topic, I have a rough idea of what I need to do:- Install RocketLauncher Install LaunchBox Install Retroarch Install ROMs etc for SNES to start with (download ROMS from No-Intro) I have formatted and installed another 2TB HDD, solely for LaunchBox (and later on BigBox). Does it matter what the HDD letter is? (At the moment, it is Z:) Seem to recall that when I installed something to do with Hyperspin a few years ago, it had to be certain letters for some reason? Not sure if this is the same, I may be wrong! Daft question, I planned to install RocketLauncher first, and the LaunchBox, is that correct, or doesn't it matter? Thanks all, any help much appreciated!
  15. Hi, sorry for not replying sooner, been manic with work! Thanks for that, much appreciated. I think i will start with SNES or NES, however instead of using my old ROMS (which were downloaded about 4 years ago), I think I will start from scratch. Had a look at EMUParadise, they seem to be pretty good. I have not used RetroArch before, is it easy to install, set-up and configure? Cheers
  16. Hi, Santaibrad and sasquatch, thanks for the replies - when I get a minute, I will have a look through a few of the tutorials. I have found a spare 2tb HDD, so I intend now to keep Hyperspin untouched on one HDD, and just copy over all ROMS etc to the spare HDD. I can then install LaunchBox (and then BigBox at a later date) on to the same HDD, and keep it all nice and neat (in theory!) sasquatch, do you mind me asking what systems you setup on your LaunchBox, and have you upgraded to BigBox at all? Cheers
  17. Hi DOS76, thanks for the reply, much appreciated! I think that we will have a go at downloading and setting it up over the weekend, hopefully the roms that we have already installed for HyperSpin can be copied over for LaunchBox. Just need to sort emulaters. Got to be easier then pulling my remaining hair out trying to sort out HyperSpin! Cheers
  18. Hi all, obviously this is the first time I have posted on here (or any forum) for a while, so please bare with me! My 6 year old son and I have been slowly building up an arcade machine, based on a 1980's cabinet. We have have built up a fairly decent computer from scratch to run it. However, I am having a nightmare with setting up and configuring Hyperspin, and to be honest I have had enough of it - just can't get my head around it all, seems to complicated! I have had a look at a few other Frontends, and LaunchBox (and ultimately BigBox), seems to be fairly easy to set up, and looks pretty impressive actually. I have a few queries though, before I take the plunge and remove Hyperspin, and was hoping one or two of you may be able to help:- 1. Can this be setup for actual arcade controls, not just gamepads etc? 2. Can it be set up for two players (our machine has two Joysticks, with 6 buttons per player)? 3. Can it be setup to recognise inputs such as 'Coin In', 'Player 1', 'Player 2' etc for the MAME side of it? 4. Can it be configured so that it launches straight away when the computer is switched on, and shuts down correctly when the computer is switched off? 5. Does it have any sort of 'Screensaver' or attract mode, ie if its idle for a while, it will show game previews etc? Thanks in advance, any help much appreciated!
