Hi all, is there any way to use platform Background videos for Platform Categories (Arcade, Console, Computers, etc), but then use my own Fanart for Platform and Game Backgrounds?

I am seriously considering upgrading to Windows 10 for LaunchBox and BigBox. However, as this will be an arcade machine system, I would want Windows customised, so that login/logout screens, shutting down screens etc are either edited, or removed. Is this even possible with Windows 10? I have stuck with Windows 7 for this long, due to it being very easy to modify as needed.

How do you add, delete or edit the platform categories? I managed to create an additional categorie, however I can't seem to remove it - even if there are no games in it, it is still displayed in BigBox?

Ok, must of misunderstood your previous reply. Will have a play around with the images again Tonight, see if I can get them to stay where they should.

Thanks for the reply Jason - if its any help, all of my platforms did already have images, be it Flyers, Clear Logos or BoxArt etc. Is it possible to change the game images on Playlists as well, or are they going to be the same as the image in the Platform that they where taken from?

Probably doing something stupid, but I can't seem to change the game image type for each platform separately - ie if I change Capcom CPS 2 (not a playlist) to 3D boxes, it will change all platforms to 3D boxes. The only platforms that do not change, are ones that are in different Platform types (Consoles, Computers etc). Any thoughts?

That's great - for me, that will just about make BigBox perfect.

Hi all, my BigBox is now getting pretty crowded, what with all the Arcade, Computer and Console platforms shown in one long list. Is there any way to split these into three groups, I.e Arcade, Computer and then Console? Then simply have the relevant platforms in those groups? Found a couple of old topics regarding this, but wondered if anything had changed?

Hi Jason, I am happy to keep using the BETA versions, and I do realise and accept that there are going to be a few glitches and errors from time to time. Keep up the great work, my opinion is that Launchbox is fast becoming one of the best Frontends out there. A lot more user friendly then Hyperspin, at any rate.

Since installing 7.8 Beta 13, I keep getting the atached error popping up randomly - any ideas? Not having much luck with LaunchBox lately.......

Hi all, can I use Lightspeed to import and seperate arcade Platforms in LaunchBox, if I already have various arcade and console platforms setup/installed in LaunchBox? (SEGA Genesis, SNES, CPS, Naomi, Neo-Geo etc.) Would like to have all of my arcade ROMs seperated into seperate platforms. Have had a read through this thread, and quite a few references to corrupted .xml files etc?

Managed to get it up and running by using an older BETA update, and copying over the data folder. Not sure why it happened , but at least its all working now!

Any help appreciated - Launchbox started to update to a new BETA version last night, however I choose to cancel it, due to being part way through downloading a large torrent. However, now neither LaunchBox or BigBox will launch, all it keeps saying is that 'LaunchBox (or BigBox) has stopped working'. Any ideas? - hoping that I have not lost everything! Cheers all

Ahh, Ok - thought it would be like that, it was just throwing me when it asks for the MAME.exe path. Does it need anything from MAME to actually sort the ROMs - as I have already setup Retroarch, wanted to avoid installing MAME, unless I have to. Do you know anything about the planned feature in LaunchBox that does this?

Hi all, I am looking to split my MAME 0.183 and matching CHD set into seperate arcade platforms on LaunchBox (and BigBox). I have been looking at clrMAMEpro and Lightspeed, to be honest Lightspeed looks pretty good. However, can it be used with Retroarch, as opposed to MAME? Although, I have seen that a new feature is in the pipeline for LaunchBox, to organise paltforms etc - is that due anytime soon, and would it better to just wait for that feature to become available?

Hmmm, I have been trying to use the sets that have come from MAME.

Wish mine did . Guess I will start from scratch again, I must be doing something stupid! Just out of interest, are your ROMs from a MAME set, if so, do you know what version?

Thanks for the replies - that's how I have been putting my CHDs, just wondered in case they where meant to go anywhere else. Is there any specific BIOS required? Is there anything different that I need to tick etc during the import ROM process? Lordmonkus, where they NO CD ROMS?

Hi all, I have now upgraded from my old i3, and built myself a powerful i5 that allows BigBox to flow perfectly - I have slowly plodded away installing various platforms on LaunchBox. without any major problems. Until now! I can not seem to get CPS 3 running - I have set it up the same way as CPS 1 and CPS 2, but using the FDalpha core, or FDAlpha_2012. The ROMs wil not load, either through LaunchBox, or Retroarch. I am 90% it is something to do with the CHDs, however I have tried no CD versions, and they will not work either. My ROMs are from EMU paradise, and they match the CHDs. FIrst question, just to confirm, what am I meant to be doing with the CHDs? ie, renaming, location etc. As usual, any help much appreciated!

Hi all, have been offered a new FX 8350 Black Edition, new MSI 970A-G43-Plus motherboard and 16gb (4x4gb 1600) RAM cheap, just wondered if anybody else is using a similar setup with BigBox? (Will be looking at a decent graphics card as well) Really want CoverFlow etc to be fast and smooth, for our arcade machine project.

Hi, I have been offered the following, all new:- AMD FX8350 Black Edition, MSI 970A-G43 Plus, with 16GB of Crucial Ballistix 1600mhz RAM, would this setup be ok instead of the i5 or 17 setup? Cheers
